And so it goes to Thread # 4, the case of Joanna Yeates, 25, a landscape architect, found dead on Longwood Lane, Flailand, North Somerset, after having gone missing from her home on Canynge Road, Clifton, Bristol.

REMEMBER, disagree, but don't bicker for the sake of it; attack the post if need be, but never the poster; maintain your sense of decorum; and PLEASE do not re-introduce into the equation things which currently have no bearing on the case, e.g., paedophiles, or the perceived presence of a gay community in Clifton, Bristol - the first of these is by law condemnable; the second in practice may be exemplary. But neither at this time appear to be at issue in this case.

X Wondering who these people being discussed are, in terms of the discussion? Or to what the initials being used refer? See Destroyer's excellent post from last thread, here:

Terrific discussion and sleuthing so far, and welcome to those new to the case. Excellent links to information from media abound on Threads #1, #2 and #3; familiarizing yourself with the case will enhance your understanding of the discussion on this, its fourth thread.

Here's teabreid's post, brought over from the end of Thread #3:

My theory is that she went straight home after leaving Waitrose. Almost at once she made contact with someone she knew (probably waiting for her at the flat, either inside or out, depending who it was, i.e whether they had a key}, she tells them to make themselves at home while she nips down to the local shops for food and drink. She goes back to the flat 10 minutes later, then some conflict arises, and she is strangled.

But just a theory.

As well as mikeymot's:

Maybe....just ANOTHER theory...she called in on CAG with pizza and cider...they ate there (but he doesn't want to get involved in the investigation) maybe had a couple of glasses of wine and a good chat catching up on old times....then J/Y left, early hours of the morning...with the two small bottles of cider still in her bag....got home and either someone was waiting for her (this could be 4/5/6 a.m.) or she disturbed something that was going on...maybe in her flat? But at least this would explain the missing pizza....she never took it back to the flat at all.

Back to where RS lives, according to a post in one of the earlier threads somebody believed she was studying at the University of Swansea, & coincidently the date for the end of term was ?? yes you got it 17th December 2010 !!! The same date the Joanna Yeates murder mystery began, or so we are led to believe it did by the LE.

However, it seems as though she was either travelling back to Ampfield, Southampton or already back there ??
I would of thought Rebecca Scott would also of been friends with CAG , but there is no way of being able to confirm this.

From last thread and Slewth, at #464:

What might be useful, or at least keep things fresh at this stage, would be a snapshot of members' views (one line answers only) on such questions as:

1. Who did it?
2. What was the motive?
3. What was the time of death?
4. What happened to the pizza?
5. When was the body was dumped?

It would be interesting to see the extent of agreement - or disagreement!

One should use initials or other indicators ("bf" etc.) regarding those who haven't been identified in media as being suspects; so far, the only one so-named is Christopher Jefferies.

As well as mikeymot's's:

Thing is, we now know that CAG was at a work do, which changes things as he'll doubtless have an alibi. Interesting that she walks past. Since they've been in touch on Facebook and by email, and given the text starts "Where are you?" [rather than "What are you up to?" or whatever], she probably knows that he's somewhere nearby.
As I said the other day, I don't think he's directly involved. But as I also said, he may be involved indirectly by making somebody rather cross.

The Mirror's desperately trying to keep this in the news; here's their latest:

Jo Yeates’s killer may have had a secret crush on her and flipped out when his advances were snubbed, detectives believe.

They are convinced the 25-year-old was strangled by someone she knew and are eager to find out whether a male friend or colleague ever mentioned fancying her.

Investigators reckon someone may have become secretly obsessed with her – and Jo may not have taken them seriously.

It is possible he made an embarrassing pass, was rejected and then strangled Jo in a panic.

Officers will now quiz all her male friends again in the hope they might recall hearing something which might at first have sounded perfectly innocent.

Many of them have not been spoken to by police since the landscape architect first went missing before Christmas.

17th was the last day of term, but lectures and seminars would still be on (unless cancelled because of the weather). Perhaps she was still in Swansea.

(Please don't groan, they apparently haven't cleared him yet.)

Ok, i'm going with the theory GR took the body with him in his boot as he didnt have time to mess about, Joanna simply returned home cracked open a bottle & the rest is history - he had to dump the body on his return, perhaps his brother helped him with this ?? He then returned to the flat to cleanse the murder scene & made it look like she had just vanished ?? He took 4 hours to do this.

What do you reckon ??

1. Who did it ? A young male stranger. Unknown to Jo,but who had been watching her. Who either lived or worked close to the flat.

2. What was the motive ? Rape. But,something stopped him from sexually assaulting Jo. Possibly he became angry and frustrated, and killed her.

3. Time of death ? On the evening of 12/17.

4. What happened to the pizza ? The killer took the pizza because he planned on eating it later.

5. When was the dump ? A day or so before she was found. Blowing snow covered her body, and finally also revealed it..

Can anyone help with privacy laws in the UK relating to asking for DNA samples?

For example can a DNA swab be taken from the L/L or BF or is there red tape involved for getting permission for DNA swabs from these individuals?

1. Who did it? CJ/or C/J plus co-perp.

2. What was the motive? His own Gratificaion/thrill seeking/Power Trip.

3. What was the time of death? 9-9.20pm on 12-17-10

4. What happened to the pizza? Removed as evidence by C/J, thrown in a fireplace or some kind of incinerator. Ashes dumped in water/sewer etc.

5. When was the body was dumped? 12-24-10 5.30PM-6.30PM (Held in some kind of storage prior to that (rifle range, someone's car, a shed/allottment etc)

From last thread and Slewth, at #464:

The answers I've seen so far make fascinating reading. Here's my take on these questions:

1. Someone in her Bristol social circle, eg the rowing club, who knew about the Tuesday party
2. Unwelcome advances rejected after visiting her on spec; throttled her when trying to silence loud screams.
3. 9.00pm on Fri 17th
4. Pizza used by JY as a shield; taken by murderer to destroy DNA evidence thereon
5. Attempted dump in the quarry (conveniently outside the initial police search area) on the 19th, but aborted when disturbed by passing cars.
