Stepping back over here lately, with the trial date getting closer, the one question that keeps coming back to me is when did the Anthony's really know that Caylee had died? When did they figure out just where the body was?

We do know, and there have been many threads about the "lack of normal" in this household. But Caylee had not been seen by them since Father's day. Since Casey had not been bringing her home for days/ weeks at a time, the fact that they had not seen her, would not have alerted them at first.

After Father's day, Casey showed up with out her, would call and lie about where they really were. At what point did they figure out the baby was gone?

If this has been discussed on a previous thread, Mods, please remove. Thanks

The million dollar question Celticthyme! In terms of accurately deciding, my opinion would be November at the latest, by the time Cindy (?) sent DC into the woods to look for her is my best guess, but when exactly- I'm unsure!

I wondered about the day Cindy found out via Amy about the missing money, then went over to Tony's and Caylee wasn't there, if that is when alarms didn't start going off in her head?

Good thread, celticthyme!

I think George knew Caylee was dead when he smelled the car the afternoon of the 15th. If not at that moment, then surely he put 2 and 2 together when he got home from work that night to find LE crawling all over the house, KC babbling about a nanny, his wife hysterical, and his son trying on Sherlock Holmes caps.

Cindy knew Caylee was dead when she made the third 911 call, IMO.

I've always assumed they both figured out where the body was just before the (I think November?) interview where CA was so doped up she couldn't keep her eyes open. Am interested in other folks' views on all this, and thanks again celtic.

Yes, but she still gave KC time to produce the baby... When KC couldn't/wouldn't (due IMO to some unfortunate choices regarding duct tape on KC's part), and CA was forced to call the police to report the baby missing, that is when I think she knew.

I do wonder how many times they both had the creepy-crawly suspicions between June 15ish-July 15... and can't imagine how much they are now regretting not acting on those suspicions.

I think with amount of denial and delusion in this family, I honestly think they had no proper alarm bells go off until they got the car back and smelled the "damn body in the trunk".

I'm sure they totally believed ICA's forays into Neverneverland and all the wonderful things she told them that happened there: the endless trips to the beach, visiting friends, sleepovers and pillow fights and chocolate sundaes and unicorns.

That's just how families like this work. Everybody has to be in on the denial and craziness together or the entire house of cards comes crashing down. Which it has. Thanks to LE and the SA telling them that the buck has officially stopped.

And I'm sorry, I'm just rambling here,( I have tried hard not to think about this case too much) :0) but when they did know, they immediately went into cover up mode, ala John and Patsy Ramsey. They had Casey in their home, no grand daughter . . the impact of this just continues to astound me. Now Cindy will be showing up in Court "supporting" this whole disgusting scenario. They must know that JB is an incompetent fool and they don't seem to be doing much about that. This daughter, when found guilty, will likely face the death penalty. The big picture here just kind of makes me dizzy. Does anyone else feel like Alice falling down the Rabbit Hole? Sorry for the ramble

And I want to wave hello at everyone here- I'm a looooongtime lurker, and finally registered to post. I love you guys!

Ynot... that last question is a very good one. I never thought of that and I now wonder the same thing. :waitasec:

Welcome missm... I lurk a lot more than I post, glad you decided to join in!

I think Cindy knew when she made that last 911 call. If you listen to her, she can't get the name Caylee out - it takes her three times to do it. She knew then. She told George our Caylee is gone.

She had been told by KC that the baby had been missing for 31 days and I guarantee you, GUARANTEE you that as she said that, the house smelled like the car since the door to the garage was open and Cindy was back and forth.

I dealt with cleaning out my brother's house back in August after he was found two weeks after he died and it gets into everything. Could not keep a thing, not even pictures that were in a back closet.

She knew then. And I don't care if they kept the door closed. They were in and out and the odor is OVERWHELMING. Ugh, you can't even keep garbage bags for weeks after, because they seem to smell like it. It is horrendous.

I think she knew then or when she got the car, but she believed it then.

I've always felt that George and Cindy Anthony knew that Caylee was deceased, on July 16, 2008 when they learned that Casey had been arrested for lying to LE, obstruction of justice, and child endangerment.

I think that for the first 24 hours George and Cindy clung to the nanny kidnapped Caylee story.

It was when they learned that LE had determined that Casey was lying to them regarding the nanny kidnapping Caylee that George and Cindy realized that Caylee was gone. Casey lying about what happened to Caylee, was their wake-up call that Caylee was dead and Casey had killed her.

Casey was out of jail on bond from late August until October 14th when she was indicted and arrested. She's been in jail since. I think that sometime during her time out on bond, she let Cindy know that she left Caylee's body somewhere in the woods off Suburban Drive, not giving the exact location.

I think Cindy was determined to find Caylee's remains before the authorities did, and permanently dispose of them. With no body, Cindy could maintain the story that Caylee had been kidnapped by the nanny and we'd be hearing of sightings on a regular basis for years to come.

Remembering Cindy's post on either My Space or Facebook...I'd say she and KC had a falling out around Father's Day, most likely over money/job/etc., and for a while, IMO, Cindy thought KC was keeping Caylee from her to punish her. Unfortunately, I think the child was a tool KC used to get what she wanted from her parents.

My best guess is they probably had a strong suspicion of what happened when George picked up the car, but I really don't think much before that.

When Cindy began to trash Tim Miller for looking for Caylee's body and then almost pointed us in the direction of the woods, I knew she knew and I believe the rest of them did too.....:furious:

During an interview with Orange County investigators, Texas EquuSearch president Tim Miller said Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, became upset when he told her they were going to start a search for a body.

Cindy Anthony: So, you know, I`m not surprised that a lot of people aren`t showing up to search the woods, because a lot of people don`t believe that she`s out in the woods, that she`s buried. They believe that she`s alive and breathing. And that`s what we need to do is look for a little girl that`s out there, you know, maybe at a restaurant or a store or a park or whatever.

And if we continue to, you know, look at evidence that hasn`t been verified like your forensics specialist said, none of this has been verified. You guys are going to put the coffin — Caylee in a coffin because eventually something is going to happen to her if we don`t find her.

and this...

"I'm very sorry, because I've been more bent over backwards than anybody else in this investigation," Cindy Anthony said. "Casey had to have help, no matter what the scenario might be, so there are people who know that information."

Welcome missm !

I "think" that Cindy knew that Caylee was gone somewhere before the third 911 call. It's during this call that she reports the "nanny took Caylee" story, IIRC. She wanted LE there, but was already attempting to control the investigation. IMO, Cindy knew that there was no nanny long before the middle of June.

Solace, I am so very sorry for what you had to endure. I thank you for sharing your story and am sending you warm beams of healing light!

Yes, but how overwhelming is the evidence when your daughter tells you the child has been missing for 31 days and surrounding you is the odor of a decomposing body.

She had to know then. At least I think she did.

The only reason the 31 days didn't do it for me, at first, is because at that time I already had a dislike of Cindy Anthony's general attitude and I thought just maybe that KC had hidden her with friends to keep her away from that cloying, strident, harridan of a grandmother. I was wrong.

Scamperoo,

Thanks for that reminder about Cindy mentioning ( probably subconsciously) about the woods. Sending Dominick Casey down there in November, was probably our best clue that she suspected that's where the baby was. He was really close too. I have no doubt that if he did actually find the remains, they would have taken them. Evil to the core. MOO
