Boyfriend says he "dropped Mary Francis in Las Vegas".

There is an unidentified female found in the area:

The dates match up. But, with no finger prints, no dna, no clothing, would dental be enough to match up? Would it be worth the notification?

I noticed there were other Unidentified Jane Does were found in culverts.

Orange socks found in october of 79

    http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/33uftx.html

A Jane Doe I was very familar with was found in oct 83 in a culvert. They called her JD 83.She was Identified a few years ago as Bambi Lynn Dick.

I feel these could be the work of a serial killer.Possibly a truck driver?

FWIW, here's the dental chart on this Jane Doe.

    UP391 Dental Chart.JPG

    * Her upper wisdom teeth (1 & 16) were removed, but the lowers (17 & 32) were still there and impacted.

    * No fillings in her upper teeth (though she had cavities in 3 of the 4 remaining upper molars)

    * She had fillings in both lower first-molars (19 & 30), and cavities in both lower second-molars (18 & 31).

That would rule-out Carolyn Bealer, as she had two upper-front false teeth.
    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...r_carolyn.html

It would also rule-out O'Dina Lucero, as she supposedly had a capped canine tooth.

Only one ruleout: Laurie Smith (https://identifyus.org/cases/391)

Was Mary Gregory ever submitted? Yes, dentals are a reliable way to make an ID.

(And a hint for people bumping threads: it's good to bump, but it's even better if you can check for ruleouts and updates, or do a quick google for news updates, or even make a comment. It's kind of annoying to see a thread move up, think, "Oh there's news!:" and then find just a "bump.")
Opinions expressed are strictly my own (who else would they belong to???)

    Just a couple of thoughts:

At that time in October it would just be cooling off after months of hot! IMO, date of death could have been more recent than January.

The location of the remains indicates to me that whomever placed the body was going northbound on I-15.

The Apex is near Nellis AFB. It's built up quite a bit in recent years but in 1979 it would have been pretty barren. Here's a pic:

There's a huge amount of traffic (and tons of big rigs) on I-15 between California and Utah.

    From the Arroyo Grande Thread:

My office received a copy of the dental radiographs of Mary Frances Gregory. Mary Frances Gregory has been ruled out as being Jane Arroyo Grande Doe. We also compared Mary Frances Gregory’s family DNA to our Jane Arroyo Grande Doe and there was no relation based on genetic data. Mary Frances Gregory has been excluded.

Just an FYI…. Mary Frances Gregory’s dentals have been kept on file in our office to compare against all Jane Does. She has been excluded as being any of our Jane Does at this time.

    Thank you,

I presume that "any of our Jane Does" would include this one too. I really thought this Jane Doe might be Mary F. Gregory

Namus still only shows one rule out. So, if Clark co has ruled out Mary Francis Gregory for this UID And for Arroyo JD, how does that get put in Namus?

Mary Gregory is from Canada, and therefore, is not listed in NamUs.

Thank you Carl. I am referring to the Namus for this UID and Namus for Arroyo. I thought maybe we could get Mary Francis as a rule out on those two Namus pages so that no one continues to look into her for those two UIDs. So, are you saying that because Mary Francis isn't from the US, she can't be listed in Namus as a rule out for our Namus UIDs at all?

Just looking for clarification so that I know how this works.

    Thanks!

I think you are right regarding the truck driver possibility. In regards to the culverts, as they go under the road to channel water from the surrounding terrain, they would make good places to conceal a variety of things including large quantities of drugs for later pick ups.

A body would be unlikely to be found for a period of time until discovered by hitchhikers (they use culverts as shelters) or maintenance workers. Heavy rains may also wash the victim out.

All that aside: If I remember right, culverts are marked with discrete "tab" type markers that can be seen from the road. Most drivers would not know this, but more than a few truckers would. Thus, culverts would be easy to find by a trucker.
