This is a local case for me, and I am glad our PD is finally re-opening it. Salena Tackett, a 23 year old mother of three, went missing from her home in January of 2003. She was reported missing by her husband of one week, Tyrone Tackett. As far as I can tell/recall, this was a fly-by-night story when it happened, and I was always surprised that more wasn't said about it here in town.

Here's her Charley:

And here's a story from this week's local paper, where they are looking at the case again:

I hope this renewed interest will finally bring Salena home.

I sent the detective working on the case the Namus and Doe files on the UID. Long shot, but who knows? Super nice guy.

Hendersonville Re-Opens Missing Mother Cold Case

Hendersonville Police have re-opened the cold case of a mother who disappeared nearly eight years ago.

No one has seen Salena Tackett in nearly eight years. Her husband told police she just walked out the door and left her two year old child, her purse and a car behind.

Ok, can't get a height/weight or DOB on her. In researching, can't find anything in the media where any family outside of her husband has acknowledged her case. When I asked for the basics (above) the detective told me they were playing their cards close to the vest on Salena. I am not sure how giving basic info interferes with a case, but I am also not a detective. Can't find any mention of her other than what's on Charley and the various other missing persons sites. I live here, and I don't even know if she was from here, has family here, how long she'd been in town. All very strange.

Looking at the map, Pasco County is 1 hour 45 minutes from Orange County. I originally thought it read Pinellas, not Pasco, so editing for my mistake.

More Tacketts from Kentucky hmmm. I will have to keep up with this case. Thanks for posting it.

Do you have any idea what part of Kentucky?

Done some research...no kin to me, but I hope they put his a$$ in jail for eternity.

Tackett’s trial was scheduled to begin Nov. 12 but Sumner County Criminal Court Judge Dee David Gay recused himself Oct. 29, acknowledging he did some minor work on the case while he was an assistant district attorney. Summers said he was setting aside a maximum of three weeks for Tackett’s trial beginning March 24.

This link was posted in The Unidentified forum and Salena is being discussed as a possible match:

I live only about 20 or 30 mins from this area and have never heard of this case until on here it's sad that even locally there hasn't been much coverage
