Hello all. Hope you are all well. I'm reading through the threads I missed, but pls will someone (my beloved Dave, delightful DeeDee or maybe the lovely Madeleine?) give me a short synposis of what has happened in the past six or so months? It seems that my baby exile has coincided with the busiest JBR spell in years....

hey sweetie, nice to see you back!:seeya:

nothing new except BR refusing to be questionned by LE.

Great to hear from you, Sophie.

But you really didn't miss anything. In fact, you might have been better off, because we've had some real fun times around here lately!

The Boulder PD went to Burke's college campus to give Burke a business card, telling him to call them if he wanted to talk. Burke decided he isn't talking to the cops. So there was "news" but it was more of a false alarm.

The top two developments in 2010 were BR’s refusal to speak to investigators, and Stan Garnett’s reversal of Mary Lacy’s ridiculous exoneration of the Ramseys.

I will bump both them both up for you.
Nice to hear from you, BTW. I hope you now have the time to join us for a bit.

Welcome back, Sophie! Hope baby is well and your life is settling down. (does it ever with small kids?)
Just take your time, catch up a little at a time.

Here's another update from Twitter by an executive book editor:

Great conference call today with John Ramsey, father of JonBene't. His spiritual memoir releasing in 2012 will be extraordinary.

That's the only source I can find for it. I'll guess we'll find out soon enough if it's true as I'm sure John will do the media circuit to promote it. If it comes out in January 2012, then I can see him doing press for the 15th anniversary and for the book at the same time.

Spiritual memoir??? How is a spiritual memoir different from a regular memoir? Hes not a minister. hmm. I would read it though..hehe

It is merely a word game. How to make himself seem like a pious "I could never have done this" man? Write a "Spiritual" Memoir.
How to make Patsy seem like a Martyr? Write a "Spiritual Memoir".
How did they make themselves seem like victims that first day? Bring in "victim's advocates" to the house.

Something perceived is something achieved.

Oh, it's so nice to be communicating with old friends again - the names alone make me smile.

Genuinely surprised that Burke didn't talk - if only to 'look' compliant and helpful. There again, not being helpful and compliant has served the family so well.

JR book sounds nauseating but it may help put the case back in the spotlight which can't hurt. Maybe a good window for Dave's book?

Delighted that Stan G reversed the mad Lacey decision which was mad for all sorts of reasons. I'm thinking of one or two IDI friends and enemies who will have gone into meltdown about that...

JBR was in the National Enquirer (UK Edition) covering Koldkase's discovery and suggesting that an arrest was imminent. Sad to say, I let myself get optimistic about that before recollecting that this is a tabloid that has had the Obamas divorcing, Michael Douglas at death's very door and Jennifer Aniston doing the exact opposite of what she was actually doing for about ten years.

Really enjoying catching up. You guys are so clever and inspirational.

Thank you to all who PM-ed me. I promise I'll reply this week.

Big love to all friends old and newxxx

I found an article about JBR in an online version of a magazine called Inside Crimes.
It stated that the theory put forth here about accidental killing of JBR by brother then the staged strangulation is not prosecutable as murder. I'll post a link. Could this be the true quagmire that ties the hands of prosecutors? Being able to prove it was murder.

Thanks Cathy, this was very interesting to read.

This is an interesting article and was written six years after JonBenet died. This quote made me think. Was John ever married again, prior to this six year mark?

"To the extent that we may have contributed in any way to the public perception that you might have been involved in this crime, I am deeply sorry," Lacy wrote in an exoneration letter to John Ramsey, who now has remarried and lives in Michigan. "No innocent person should have to endure such an extensive trial in the court of public opinion."

The R's were cleared in 2008 and I believe at that time, or shortly after, he was dating Natalee Holloway's mom. I don't think John has remarried. Also, when Burke's twitter was public, he said back in December 2009, that he went to Hawaii with his dad. Wouldn't his new stepmom have come too?

I would think so, but I wonder if there is something Mary knew, that the rest of us didn't?

Well, he's done interviews since being cleared (Oprah, for example) and he didn't mention a new spouse. What reason would he had for keeping that a secret?

Great minds must think alike, Sophie! Thus the "Grinch smile."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that, Sophie.
