“On Friday, January 21, 2011, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the victim was walking west bound, crossing a driveway at the south end of the Shoppers World Plaza parking lot in Brampton. The victim was struck by a 2003 Dodge Durango and sustained severe injuries. She was taken to a Toronto trauma centre, where she has since succumbed to the injuries,” said a statement issued on Sunday.
“Investigators have not been able to identify the victim and are asking the public for their assistance.”
The victim is described as female Asian, approximately 30 years old, 5’4” tall, 110 lbs, brown eyes and black hair straight to the shoulder.

Dead pedestrian identified
Peel Regional Police have now identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by an SUV in the parking lot at Shoppers World Friday evening.
The 35-year-old Brampton woman’s family is in the Philippines and police have contacted them. They have asked that her name not be released, according to police.
Investigators say members of the public helped to identify the woman, who did not have any identification on her.
She was walking west, crossing the driveway a the south of the mall at Main Street and Steeles Avenue at 7 p.m. when she was hit by a right-turning SUV.
She was rushed to hospital, but died of her injuries Saturday morning. It took until Tuesday for police to identify her.
Police are still investigating the collision. No charges have been laid. The SUV driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by members of the Major Collision Bureau.
