Mystery as police hunt for missing men
Published On Mon Jan 24 2011

Police tape seals of home at 1801 Featherston Drive in Mississauga.

Peel police say Jun (Johnny) Fei and Jiangou (Tony) Han are missing from the home.

It’s as if the ground opened up and swallowed Tony Han and Johnny Fei.

It’s a mystery for Peel police, who have been trying to track down the two North York men since they disappeared last Thursday from a ritzy home in Mississauga.

Police are tight-lipped about the case but have hinted they found something amiss when officers went to the 15-room mansion, a stone’s throw from the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus.

Jianguo Han, a 44-year-old real estate agent who goes by the name Tony, works out of Homelife/Landmark Realty’s Markham office and had been trying to sell the home for several months. His missing car, a black Mercedes, was found in Don Mills on Sunday.

Jun Fei, 40, likes to be called Johnny and is the wealthy administrator of a numbered company that owns the nearly $2.5 million estate.

In this other article published Jan. 21st., there is a link for the Sales Video of the house where allegedly they both where at, before they both went missing.

I am assuming the voice is Tony's Hun?

Very strange case ... wonder why LE cannot say what was found in the house.

Very sad for the family. I think the video and voice over is done by a professional company not the Realtor.
Hope everything turns out well. Very scary that this happens in todays day and age and so close to home.

    curious?

Very scary indeed. I'm wondering if they had an appointment with a prospective buyer that day ... though why would the owner (Mr. Fei) be present at the meeting?

From this article, seems to me LE are hinting 'kidnapping' ... had thought of that myself, but was thinking along the lines that one of them kidnapped the other ... but the following seems to indicate that both could have been kidnapped by a third party

Also, when they say LE thought they would be in the car, do they mean 'alive' and well?

Car no help in locating 2 missing men

“We thought that we would’ve found them in the car, but we haven’t,” said Const. Wayne Patterson. “We’re pleading to the public to take a look at the pictures.”

The black four-door Mercedez Benz with Ontario licence plate BHWC 968 was found outside a Tim Horton’s.

Fei’s family alerted police that they’d not seen him and investigators have indicated that evidence they saw in the home suggests the men have been taken away against their will.

Police seek missing real estate agent, client

Last Updated: Tuesday, January 25, 2011 | 5:44 PM ET

The disappearance of two men — a high-profile real estate agent dealing in luxury homes and his client — is causing concern among the Greater Toronto Area's Chinese community.

Neighbours say Fei and his family lived in the house at 1801 Featherston Drive for about five years before it went on the market last fall.

Police have a surveillance video that shows Han parking his Mercedes Wednesday at a Tim Hortons in the Don Mills area of north Toronto.

In the video, Han is seen parking his car before being picked up by someone in another car and driving off.

Much less is known about Fei, Zhou reported.

According to real estate records, he owns the Mississauga house Han was trying to sell. He used to own it personally, but sold it to his own numbered company a few years ago for $1.

Zhou said Meng Meng last spoke with Han on Thursday, the day he was reported missing.

"She called his cellphone to confirm information in an article, but he hung up in an uncharacteristic way," Zhou reported.

"When she called back a few minutes later, the cellphone was turned off. She was immediately concerned."

Zhou said some real estate agents are speculating this is a kidnapping case, something that police won't confirm.

1 found, 1 missing in Mississauga kidnapping
Last Updated: Thursday, February 10, 2011 | 6:10 PM ET
Police are remaining tight-lipped over the reappearance of one of two men abducted from a Mississauga mansion more than two weeks ago.

Jun Fei, 40, and Jaingou Han, 44, disappeared from Fei's Mississauga home on Jan. 20.

Police confirmed on Thursday that the men had been kidnapped - but they say Fei was found six days later. Police didn't say anything at the time, citing concern over Han's safety.

"Mr. Han is still outstanding and we have some genuine concerns about his health right now given that we have classified this as an abduction case," said Peel Regional Police Const. Adam Minnion.

Fei, police said, was found on Jan. 26, in the Don Mills area.

Warrant issued, as mystery deepens in kidnapping

    <snips>

Police also issued a warrant for one suspect in the attack, Guo Wei Wu, 43, of no fixed address. Police confirmed that Fei and Han had been kidnapped.

Police said Fei was located in Don Mills, five days after Han’s black Mercedes was found in the same area.

Forensics officers had found signs of a struggle in the home on Jan. 20 after family members reported the men missing.

He was unable to give details about how Fei was found, but said the businessman had suffered minor injuries while in captivity.

The suspect, Wu, is described as an Asian male, 5-foot-7, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a lengthy criminal record in jurisdictions around Toronto.

In 2007, Wu was sentenced to 23 months in jail and three years probation after he and five others pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a Toronto home invasion.

In 2002, he was sought by York region police for ramming a police cruiser with a minivan as police attempted to arrest him on charges including assault, threatening death and break and enter.

In 2006, he and a partner were accused in a string of 65 burglaries at Markham businesses.

    More arrests expected in abduction

Peel Regional Police expect to make multiple arrests in the abduction of two North York men who went missing last month from a luxury home near University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM).

One of the men, Jun Fei, 40, was found safe last month. However, investigators have yet to locate Jianguo Han, 44, also known as Tony.

Meanwhile, police are seeking Wei Guo Wu, 43, of no fixed address. He's wanted on charges of kidnapping and assault causing bodily harm, and possibly additional charges.

Thanks SWMNBN, I just noticed that in your article the "wanted man"'s name is:
Wei Guo Wu and in the article I posted above, the name is:
    Wu Guo Wei
    so,
I googled to see if there were other articles with that name, and found an older article with another spelling:
Guowei Wu, 43, of no fixed address, wanted for bilking two men out of $600,000.
IMHO, could be the same person (very similar name, same age, no fixed address, and Toronto area), unless those are common Chinese names?

here is the link to that article, which is dated October 18, 2010 : http://www.cireport.ca/2010/10/chine...r-bilking.html

I Hope "Tony" Han is found soon safe and well.

Sounds to me like quite a bit of the suspect's past legal troubles stem from various types of burglary/breaking and entering.

Is it possible Fei and Han interrupted a robbery in progress when they went to the house to meet up? One thing I'm not entirely clear about- do Fei and his family still reside in that home? The articles state he lived there for several years, and had recently sold the house to his numbers company for $1. Did he move out of the home at this time?

Definitely sounds to me like Han was the target of the actual kidnapping. Why else would the kidnappers release Fei, relatively unharmed, unless he was lucky enough to escape on his own? I wonder if Han was targeted, with Fei unfortunately finding himself at the wrong place at the wrong time.

43 charges laid in failed kidnap attempt

scrolling all the way down found this:
Meanwhile, in a separate kidnapping investigation, Peel detectives are still looking for realtor Jiangou "Tony" Han, 44.

He was abducted along with Jun "Johnny" Fei, 40, from a posh Featherston Dr. home Fei is trying to sell for about on Jan. 20.

Fei was found unhurt in Don Mills six days later, but the news was kept secret by police for two weeks while their search for Han, a realtor with Homelife/Landmark Realty, continued.

Detectives released an arrest warrant for Guo Wei Wu, 43, who is well known to police. Police believe there are others who took part in the kidnappings but haven't said if they have been identified.

    Cops hunt kidnapper

    Last Updated: February 10, 2011 6:34pm
The release of one of the victims, Jun “Johnny” Fei, 40, was kept secret by police for two weeks fearing for the wellbeing of the still-missing realtor Jiangou “Tony” Han, 44.

The men were kidnapped by at least two abductors, possibly more, from a posh Featherson Dr. home in Mississauga on Jan. 20.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Guo Wei Wu, 43, who is well-known to police. There’s no word if police identified any other suspect.

In October 2002, Wu rammed an unmarked York Regional Police cruiser — narrowly missed an Emergency Response Unit — with a stolen van filled with loot taken in break-ins.
The home where the men were kidnapped is owned by a numbered company that Fei is involved with. It’s on the market for $2.4 million and is being sold through Han’s Homelife/Landmark Realty office based in Markham.

There were signs of a struggle in the home, police said in January.

Const. Adam Minnion said he didn’t know if Fei escaped his abductors or if they released him.

He said there’s no information if a ransom was demanded by the kidnappers.

Remains confirmed to be Markham realtor
The announcement came a day after investigators released the photo of an unidentified man believed to have been driving a van when Jianquo “Tony” Han and client “Johnny” Xiu Jun Fei — who survived — were kidnapped on Jan. 20.

An autopsy and DNA tests confirmed remains investigators located Thursday in an Edward Jeffreys Ave. residence were Han’s.

A North York resident well-known in the GTA’s Chinese community for selling multimillion-dollar houses mostly to Canadian newcomers, Han, 44, was abducted by a group of men from an upscale Mississauga home belonging to Fei, 40, police said.
Under a court-ordered publication ban, the names of two other arrested adults accused of kidnapping cannot be revealed.

A seventh and an eighth man remain at large.

New arrest made in kidnapping, death of Tony Han

    http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/ar...-tony-han?bn=1

Peel police have arrested a teenager who they say may have been the getaway driver in the kidnapping of real estate agent Tony Han, who went missing and died in January.

The teen, who was arrested and charged Tuesday, is allegedly involved in the death of Han and the disappearance of Johnny Fei, whose million-dollar Mississauga home Han was trying to sell.

Fei was held for ransom and later released, whereas Han, 44, died of a heart attack while in the hands of his captors, police said. Human remains belonging to Han were found buried in a garbage bag in the basement of a Markham home this month.

On July 15, Peel police released a photo of a man they said may have driven the car used to abduct Fei and Han. Using information from the public, police arrested that suspect this week. The other man in the police photo, known as Wei Guo Wu, is still at large.
