Switzerland - Man admits sexually abusing 100+ disabled children, Bern, 2010

Swiss Man Admits Abusing 100 Children

    >>>>>>snip>>more at link

"The man admitted sexually abusing 114 mentally handicapped children, some of whom also were physically impaired, police said. He also admitted eight further cases of attempted abuse, authorities said" (via CBS News). It's hard to even think of someone doing something so terrible! Abuse and molestation are terrible standing alone, but for someone to abuse children who are handicapped? Come on.

Swiss police: man admits abusing over 100 children

The head of Bern police's special investigations unit, Gabriele Berger, told a news conference in Bern that the evidence against the man includes photos and hours of video recording the abuse

"One of the central questions of this investigation is how such levels of abuse could go undetected for so long," said Berger.

The man previously came under suspicion in 2003, after a 13-year-old severely disabled girl accused him of sexual abuse. That probe was dropped after experts decided the accusations likely concerned another care worker, who was later sentenced to several years in prison. Berger said the 2003 case would now be reopened.

Sadly, the disabled have sexual abuse rates at least double that of the rest of the population. It is heart-wrenching. Once again proof that this crime is one of control over the vulnerable. This man is certainly not alone in his travesties as his crimes are very similar to those of Wayne Bleyle:

    http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art27655.asp

He's the respiratory therapist for profoundly affected children who compared the number of his victims to the number of snowflakes in a snowstorm. And recently, we've had Edward Olson of San Antonio, who amassed a massive collection of child porn from his molestations of disabled children:

Those who are so inclined, seek out employment with these children. Just as with infants, mentally disabled adults, and the elderly with dementia, there's little chance of being caught. Thank God that supervision is improving. And what brave men to report this guy. They are true heros as they have undoubtedly saved many others from the same fate.

May God be with those children and innocents and their families. The victims might not know the social implications of abuse but most recognize pain. Shame on this despicable man.
