NBPD continue search for missing toddler
There are many cases that the New Braunfels Police Department follow-up on every day, but in recent weeks there are two that stand out as priority cases for the department.
Leading that list is the case of missing toddler Joshua Davis Jr. Missing since Feb. 4th, there has been no sign of the 2-foot tall, 30-pound boy. He was last seen wearing a blue and red plaid button down long sleeve shirt over a grey long sleeve t-shirt, a beige and white onesy, and dark blue jeans with black and white socks.

No person of interest in baby Joshua case
Five months after 18-month-old Joshua Davis disappeared from his family's New Braunfels home on a cold February night, police said the tips continue to come in and they are pursuing each one in hopes one of the calls could be the needed break in the case.
"I wouldn't characterize anyone specifically as a person of interest or any type of suspect," said Capt. Mike Penshorn, spokesman for the New Braunfels Police Department.

Missing toddler's parents react to Anthony outcome
Sabrina Benitez and Josh Davis sat on the steps outside their New Braunfels home with photos of their missing son on the front door and windows, pondering Casey Anthony's acquittal of her 2-year-old daughter's murder and ultimately brief sentence for lying to investigators.
Both said her judgment day awaits.
"She should not have gotten away with it," Benitez said.
Her husband said most troubling was that "no one gets convicted or does any time for it."

Parents Mark Birthday of Missing New Braunfels Toddler
Six months later, Joshua is still missing. No body has been found. No suspects. And no solid leads.
Still, Davis and Benitez are hopeful he's alive. Today, they plan to mark his second birthday, which is on August 16, with a prayer vigil.
"It's still his day," Davis said. "It's still his birthday."

As one case closes, another remains open: Search for Joshua Davis Jr. continues by New Braunfels Police
One local mystery was solved last week with the discovery of Shannon Smith’s burnt orange pickup truck, and the murder suspect’s body, less than 2 miles from the scene of the crime. But there’s another local mystery that New Braunfels Police still want solved: The case of missing New Braunfels toddler Joshua Davis Jr., who went missing over 7 months ago, on a cold February night.

Media biased in missing kids coverage
Over the past week, there was an intense media focus on Lisa Irwin, the 10-month-old Missouri girl who, according to her parents, was taken by an intruder from their home in the middle of the night.

As investigators search for Lisa, there are thousands of other missing child cases that fail to capture the nation's attention.

CBS News' Susan McGinnis reports that Joshua Davis disappeared during a family gathering at their San Antonio, Texas, home last February.

Activist works to get missing baby Joshua case national attention
The case of missing 11-month-old Baby Lisa Irwin has been in the national media for weeks. Irwin was last seen about a month ago and investigators are still following up on leads.
Alonzo Washington, who says he works as a voice for the parents of missing children, said Sunday that while the attention out there for Baby Lisa is good, there's one child in Texas who has been forgotten—18-month-old Baby Joshua Davis.
