FL - The Dalai Lama's nephew killed in accident during peace walk
How tragic. I only hope that this pans out to truly be a horrid accident.

"The Dalai Lama's nephew was killed Monday along a Florida highway during one of his long treks to bring awareness to the Tibetan struggle for independence from China, officials said.
Jigme K. Norbu (pronounced JIG'-me NOHR'-boo), 45, was hit by an SUV around 7:30 p.m. on State Road A1A along the state's eastern coast, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. Police released few other details.

Oh, how awful! It sounds like a dangerous stretch of highway to be walking at night. It's a strange phenomenon that we as drivers tend to unconsciously steer toward things we're staring at, especially when fatigued. It would have been safer to use the sidewalk on the other side of this road.
Poor man. At least he died doing something he passionately believed in. RIP
