No male abduction or murder victims are listed as official Highway of Tears cases. This is not, however, because there are no males missing or murdered along Highway 16.

Please discuss male victims here, and share their profiles. Please post links, esp discussion threads from other sections of WS.

Brutal crimes are not always about sexuality, but about power. There is no reason to exclude male missing/dead from a consideration of the Highway's darker side, IMO.

14yo Luke Degerness, Port George - still missing.

There has been no connection made between Luke and the Highway (aside from location), but please visit his thread. His case remains open, and his mother needs to know what happened to her child.

Luke may have run away, but no one knows for sure, and his whereabouts are still unknown.

So there must be a pretty substantial difference in the way the men were murdered compared to the women?

The cohort of "official victims" are based more on the characteristics of the victims, so males are not included in the "official" investigation. However, I wanted to keep the door open for missing and murdered males, as well.

As far as I am concerned, why exclude any victims from notice and general discussion, KWIM?

Went missing while tubing, but neither his tube or his life jacket have been recovered, despite a massive search.

Police say a two-year-old missing person case in the B.C. Interior is now being investigated as a homicide.

Derek Kelly, 31, of Langley, B.C., was last seen on Jan. 1, 2008, in the Bridge Lake area, near 100 Mile House, about 300 kilometres north of Vancouver.
