RI - Denis Chartier, 56, Burrillville - 6 Feb 2011
Police in Burrillville say the assistant women's soccer coach at Brown University is reported missing.
Lt. Kevin San Antonio said that 56-year-old Denis Chartier had been missing since Feb. 6, but that police don't consider it suspicious.
San Antonio said Chartier's credit card was last used late that night at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

“We are baffled about this. We don’t know what’s going on,” Denise said. “He has a job that he loves and he has grandchildren who love him.
“We are at a loss as to why this has happened. Everybody loves him.”
Pincince said he last spoke to Denis Chartier on Feb. 5, the day before he disappeared. The regular soccer season is finished and it’s recruiting season, Pincince said, and Chartier is a big part of it. He called Pincince to talk about soccer that day, and they discussed the English Premier Soccer League and the day’s big games. Nothing seemed unusual, he said.

Police seek public's help in missing man case
Brown University issued the following statement yesterday:
"University officials learned early this week that family members of Brown Assistant Coach for Women's Soccer Denis Chartier had filed a missing persons report with Burrillville Police. Denis has been a member of the Brown community for more than 15 years. Our thoughts are with Denis and his family during this most difficult time. We have shared this information with the women's soccer team and other members of our community who know and care deeply about Denis. We have also made support services available to members of the community affected by this news."
The Brown women's soccer team held a candlelight vigil for Chartier Tuesday night at the Meister-Kavan Field behind the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center.

This is really disturbing. I hope he is okay and didn't run into any foul play. I live in NE and have been to Foxwoods a couple of times on a lark... I pray this good man returns to his family safe and sound. I wonder if they are searching along the route he would have used to return home? The story of that woman who went into the ravine last year and lived, miraculously, all those days in her car- it always has me hope LE look on roadsides when a person is reported missing.
