The mother of a 5-year-old Odessa boy and her boyfriend have been charged over her son's death.

Cpl. Sherrie Carruth says the boy was declared dead at a hospital. Carruth says investigators believe the boy had suffered multiple injuries over a length of time. An autopsy has been ordered.

Another angel in heaven due to the idiocy of his mother.

I vote to let people give up their children in exchange for an IUD or strerilization depending on the severity.

I don't disagree, but then what do we do with the kids??

So many children are beaten killed and abused in foster care it's horrible. IN fact these poor kids' chances of making with death or abuse are higher being with their birth family than being in state care :( :(

It's lose/lose all around for the kids :(

I vote to bring back orphanage type buildings again. The US is the only country who has got rid of them and look what damage it has done. No safe place for kids to go.

ACK I was trying to type and help kids with homework at the same time LOL My post doesn't make sense and my edit button is gone.

IN fact these poor kids' chances of making with death or abuse are higher being with their birth family than being in state care

What I meant to say is IN fact these poor kids' chances of meeting with death or abuse are higher with them being in state care then left with their birth families. Statistically speaking anyway.

UGH sorry for the messed up post.. Just not in a multi tasking mode today i guess

another mom and boyfriend murdering a child...........
are there no more bonding and love?

We do have similair things though..
The kids with severe emotional and behavioral disturbances live their younger years in PIMC facilites. When they age out of those. they go to group homes, when they eventually run from those, then they go to a youth shelter and when they break the lasw, they head for a detention center, then when they age out and lose all support (what little there was at their previous placement) they end up prostitutes, addicted to drugs and alcohol, and end their lives in Jail, or prison or dead. That is after they repeat the cycle of giving birth and then losing custody of their kids to the state. Obviously it isn't 100% guaranteed to go that way.. but it happens more often than not :( :(

My friend adopted twins a from a russian orphanage, those poor babies were a MESS when she got them and still are 5 years later. I wouldn't wish an orphanage on any child.
CPS's system is broke, the foster parent system is broke, birth families are broke...

There has to be another answer.

A link to a page that may open some peoples eyes to abuse while in state care

Child Protective Services had a history with the family.

Neighbors weigh in. Apparently lots of arguments went on.

One neighbor said that the child had been hit in the stomach with a shoe when he went to his grandmom's with his mother. That's a neighbor though so who knows?

The Odessa mother charged with capital murder in connection to the 2011 death of her 5-year-old son pleaded guilty Wednesday, receiving life in prison.

Kimberly Ann Moore, 29, was sentenced to life in prison plus 15 years to be served consecutively, a news release from Ector County District Attorney Bobby Bland stated. Moore will be eligible for parole after serving 37.5 years, the release stated.

Moore is the second person to plead guilty to the Feb. 20, 2011, death of 5-year-old Zachery Dominguez. Ralph Martinez Jr., 28, pleaded to the same charges on Aug. 14, and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
