MI - Aferdita "Rita" Gjergjaj, 30, Macomb Township, 25 Feb 2001
Aferdita "Rita" Gjergjaj, 30, was last seen about 6 p.m. Sunday leaving a relative's home in Macomb Township.
Her car was found Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Auburn Hills Showcase Cinema. Her cell phone, purse and some receipts were in the car.

Rita Gjerjgaj, Birmingham, disappeared Feb. 25, 2001, and police continue to search for her body and suspected killer.
Since she went missing, police have been trying to pin down her ex-husband, Binak "Kola" Gjerjgaj, who police said fled to his native country Kosovo soon after his ex-wife's disappearance.

Wow. This guy's a real winner, huh? He's willing to kill the mother of his children (allegedly) to keep her from gaining custody of them, but is equally willing to just let them be dumped into the foster care system while he jets home to avoid the consequences of his actions?
That he's sitting in another country who refuses to extradite him, facing zero consequences for very likely murdering his ex-wife, is disgusting.
I hate that there's NOTHING we can do!!!

The first annual Missing in Michigan Event was held on May 7th, 2011 at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. The slideshow was made to commemorate the families of the missing that attended the event.
Rita is included.

Man held in Kosovo accused in Auburn Hills slaying now free

A former Auburn Hills man who had been held in Kosovo accused in his wife’s murder has been released and is free to walk the streets.
