I found this UID that does not appear to have a thread of his own. On June 25, 2003 a white male was found in the Schuylkill River in Perry Twp., Berks County, PA. he was estimated to be between 25-45 y.o., about 5'10" and 160 lbs with reddish brown hair. the Namus link has an excellent composite of the deceased:

OMG, the one sketch looks just like my former boss! (It's not; I saw the guy a couple of months ago, but man...)

Here's a side by side.

As for the hair -- at 35, a man can lose a lot of hair very quickly. Ask my spouse. No, on the other hand, probably better if you don't... But since the earlier photo is the one with more hair, I don't think the difference is significant.

My first thought is that the nose looks wrong, but part of it is the weird lighting and part of it is in a part of the nose that might not have been accurately reconstructed.

Originally posted as a possible match in OP by webrocket. Moved here to change thread to a GD thread:

there is this missing man, Raymond Poland, last seen in Erie PA on August 22, 2001. Raymond was 5'9", 165 lbs and reddish brown hair. Raymond was known to frequent homeless shelters according to his profile. his picture shows more hair than the UID although the flash cast shadows as can be seen from the couch he was sitting on and I think it exaggerated the appearance of hair that he did have:

https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/5496/25/

any thoughts on the UID or the potential match?

the only downside I see is that Poland had scars on both arms and none are noted on the UID, but that does not mean they did not exist especially if he was found in a river, they might have been obscured from any damage caused from a fall or drifting.

the UID has only one rule-out listed, Michael Allen from Florida.

ETA: Poland was 35 y.o. when he was last seen in August 2001.

so all told we have height, age, weight, hair color, state and a time interval of about 2 years.

I sent an email to Joel Bonilla, the contact person at the Berks County Coroner's Office listed at Namus regarding the possible match of this UID to Raymond Poland.

as always, I will advise of any feedback.

got this prompt reply:

Mr. *advertiser censored*,

I have forwarded this email to both Police Departments. The PD investigating the disapearance of Mr. Raymond Poland. And the PD investigating the unidentified remains. I believe both of the agencies have fingerprints for a fingerprint comparison to be done. Thanks for your time.

kudos to Berks County for taking the inquiry seriously. hopefully the fingerprints will either confirm a match or rule out Raymond Poland as the UID.

How often has anyone found that dates have been off? There are some similarities between the UID and the following missin person, but the date in the system the person went missing is after the date UID found. I know in reading other posts sometimes the dates are off, and the missing person went missing in Schuylkill County (right above Berks) in which the Schuylkill River runs throuh both...

I also see some similarities between the two, the height and weight are a little off, but I have seen mistakes with both before. I have seen dates wrong also, especially when a missing person isn't reported missing right away.

They both have their left ears pierced

Good morning!
I have been sitting on this one for a while. This man, Michael Henry Wasik, went missing February 9, 2002 and is presumed homeless. The reason that I have never posted him as a possibility is because he has tattoos and none are listed for the UID. But, there is one BIG reason that I cannot ignore this match...he is listed as wearing a size 10.5 EEE shoe. He also has his left ear pierced. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/w/wasik_michael.html
Thoughts???

The Uid was found wearing a 10.5 EEE shoe. The age, hair and piercing also matches, and the date is reasonable.

It's hard to say from the description whether he had been in the water so long that tattoos might have been destroyed. Everything else seems to match up rather well -- the location's a bit far, but homeless men tend to drift, and there's enough time for him to have made his way that far north. I'm not great with faces but there seems to be a pretty strong resemblance there, as well.

It looks very good to me, CherBear.

The UID page says they have no dental info available and no DNA recovered. If someone skipped taking down the dental info and getting DNA samples they might have skipped mentioning tattoos imo.

I totally agree! I have submitted this possible match. I will let you know if I get a response.

I submitted this and heard back earlier this week that this lead was passed on to investigators and they are looking into it. It sounds like the 2 have not been previously compared.

Michael has been officially excluded based on the discrepancy with the tattoos.

What do you think of this guy? Shane Neuhaus missing from Ohio, last seen in June 2003 https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/7937/6/

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/n/neuhaus_shane.html

LE believes he met with foul play according to his Charley Page

Here is a side by side

PA.jpgneuhaus_shane.jpg

Shane is listed as being 5'8 the UID 5'10 - estimated
Shane has blue eyes, the UID has brown ( I have seen eye color off before)
Time frame matches and age approximation match

I can't see it hurt if I turn it in.. What do you think?

Bumping for the Schuylkill River Man...it's coming up on 11 years next week. As of today, the following persons have been ruled out:

Michael Allan
Raymond Poland
Robert Seward
Michael Wasik

I know this PM is pretty far out there, but every time I see the UID's reconstruction I think of John Lango who is missing from Pottsville. The only thing is, John Lango went missing in 1988. The height is close and he is in the UID's age range, but where would he have been for 15 years?

Bumping! There are no new rule outs.

Do you think it's possible for them to get DNA somehow for comparison purposes?
