Researchers from the University of Arizona swabbed shopping cart handles in four states looking for bacterial contamination. Of the 85 carts examined, 72 percent turned out to have a marker for fecal bacteria.

Just to think all my friends made fun of me for wiping down, with clorox wipes, my shopping cart before putting my DD in the cart. I swear from the day she was born until she quit riding in shopping carts I toted clorox wipes and wiped them down everytime.

I worked with the general public and I swear I have seen...

1. Babies gnawing on shopping cart handles.

2. Toddlers walking barefoot in the grocery store as well as wal-mart restrooms.

My conclusion, as a teenager , was that the general public is just nasty. This article proves me right.

Ewww... just ewww...

My son works in a grocery store-- they do not clean the carts. It's up to us. I use sanitizer before getting into my car, after leaving the store...and while shopping, I avoid touching my face. Gross, isn't it?
