TRENTON – Authorities are continuing their search for a missing Trenton man who was the subject of a large canvass of his east Trenton neighborhood Thursday, police said.

City police are working with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police to find Michael L. Fauntleroy, a 25-year-old Trenton man missing since Feb. 24.

“Law enforcement agencies are working hand in hand with family members and following all leads available,” said Sgt. Pedro Medina, a police spokesman.

Trenton cops: Home invasion could lead to whereabouts of Michael Fauntleroy

The arrest of a man who broke into a city home has police back on the trail of a man missing since late February. Michael Fauntleroy, 25, is feared dead, but his body has not been recovered since he went missing Feb. 24.

Trenton police are optimistic about finding Fauntleroy’s body and his killers after Sunday’s apprehension of a man who broke into a home on Oak Street. The home invasion suspect apparently told police he could name people connected to Fauntleroy’s death.

Every disappearance is sad, but how sad is that?

I am not sure if my post went through but sending words of faith and encouragement that he may be found safely from a fellow NJ resident

Details of Disappearance
Fauntleroy was last seen in Trenton, New Jersey on February 24, 2011. He talked to his mother at 10:30 p.m. At 12:02 a.m. on February 25, he sent his mother a text message saying he was coming home. He lived with his mother and his young son.

Fauntleroy never arrived home and has never been heard from again. His disappearance is completely uncharacteristic of his behavior; he normally maintained very close contact with his loved ones.

Fauntleroy has lived in Trenton his entire life and attended the local public schools. He has a minor criminal record for selling drugs, but his mother says he wasn't seriously involved in the drug world and made a living selling scrap metal.

Authorities believe he was murdered, but no one has been charged in his disappearance and no suspects have been named. He left behind a girlfriend who was pregnant with his daughter. His case remains unsolved.

Missing Black and brown people rarely get media attention, group says. Here are 18 who vanished in N.J.

Trenton resident Michael Fauntleroy Jr. was 25 when he disappeared in February 2011.

Though no evidence has been found to confirm what happened to Fauntleroy, his mother, Joyce White, believes her son was killed. She’s still seeking answers.

“I know for sure my son can’t be on this earth,” she said. “He’s not here.”

Missing Trenton resident Michael Fauntleroy Jr. left behind a son and daughter along with his grieving parents.

I sure do miss him,” said his mother, Joyce White. “Mikey was a very loving and caring person. You wouldn’t know it if you seen him, because he looked a little grumpy, but when you get to know him, he was like a gentle bear.”

It’s important for cases like her son’s to remain in the public eye, White said, and she hopes a group like Black & Missing Foundation can bring more attention to overlooked victims.

Advocates must keep repeating these stories so people don’t forget, she said.

“You’ve got to get it out there,” White said. “You’ve got to talk about it everyday, just like a commercial.”
