VA - Susana Cisneros, 24, pregnant, found murdered, Richmond, 9 March 2011
They've caught him...
This was his baby, & he was married to another woman.
RIP Susanna Cisneros & little one. :-(
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -- The suspect in the murder of a pregnant woman has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Kissimmee, Florida this evening.
Twenty-seven-year old Gregory Lewis Nelson, Jr is wanted in connection to the murder of 24-year old Susana Cisneros. Her unborn child also died in the brutal attack.
Heartbreaking new details tonight in the case of a murdered pregnant woman. Mourners from as far as California are in Richmond to pay respects to 24-year-old Susana Cisneros and her unborn baby boy. This as the hunt for her suspected killer ramps up in Central Virginia.
Dozens of mourners poured in to Bliley Funeral Home. Susana Cisneros' brother says the viewing is almost too much to bear, especially for his mother.
"My family is feeling bad," he said. "It breaks my heart seeing my sister with the baby in her arms."
27-year-old Gregory Nelson, Jr. is wanted for first degree murder in connection with the death of Susana Cisneros.
Cisneros, was just 2 weeks away from giving birth, was found murdered earlier this week in the parking of the Willow Lawn Hardees.
Her boyfriend, 27-year-old Gregory Nelson is wanted for first degree murder.
But this morning's paper is reporting that Nelson could face the death penalty if prosecutors in Henrico county determine that he intended to kill the fetus through the premeditated murder of the mother.
That's a capital offense in Virginia.
Susana Cisneros, who was two weeks away from giving birth to a baby boy, died from multiple sharp force injuries to her neck.
Her relatives found her body behind the Hardee's near Chipotle after discovering the bloodied SUV that her brother said she borrowed so she could meet with Nelson.
Just last week her family held a baby shower, celebrating Susana's first child, which they say was fathered by Nelson who is married to another woman.
"Raise the kid by herself that's what she always said. She said, 'I don't need nobody to raise my kids,'" said Susana's brother.“The truth is rarely pure and never simple.”~Oscar Wilde

Court documents reveal new details in murder of pregnant woman
“He did what he did, I mean telling exactly what he did. I can’t even find the words to explain. His mentality is just different from a lot of people. It’s just unbelievable” said the brother of Cisneros.

Documents show once police realized Nelson, Jr. was using ATM machines along the way, police even deposited money into his bank account to keep him accessing the account until law enforcement could track him down and eventually arrest him.
Amazing! I think that's the first time I've heard of police doing that.

In the early morning hours of March 9, 2011, Nelson was pulled over for speeding in Chesterfield. He was bloody and fidgety, officers said, and there was a bloody knife in the back of his car.
According to testimony, Nelson was detained for two hours after saying he'd been in a fight with a homeless man, and then he was allowed to go home. All of that took place before the body of Susana Cisneros was discovered.Among the central questions: Was Nelson detained too long for a speeding and (later) drug infraction? Was the incriminating evidence that was eventually found, discovered illegally? Were police reports inaccurately filed?
These three questions are at the heart of a hearing that could suppress critical evidence in the case against Nelson, a married father who's scheduled to go on trial for first degree murder in December.
The suppression hearing was continued to an undetermined date.“The truth is rarely pure and never simple.”~Oscar Wilde
