Bostonian find beloved dachshund alive in burned-out home

    http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2011...?_r=1&ref=news

In case the link does not open, the owner returned to her burned home almost a month after the fire to access damage and found her year-old pup Lola alive in the debris...she had assumed the dog had been killed in the fire. Lola is thinner, but expected to fully recover. Bless her little heart.
    Just my opinion, of course.

I'm wondering if maybe the owner was not allowed to go through the rubble of the fire for safety purposes for a while? It does seem odd that the dog was not found sooner. Poor little thing, probably did at least some barking...
    Just my opinion, of course.
