Well i gotta give the lawyer points for this statement I agree with it..

"Thomas says law enforcement has made allegations of illegal pornographic material but has failed to provide evidence or make an arrest."

JMO.... they aint saying squat till the grand jury makes a decision.

Could SA's attorney have made this statement in preparation for BD's attorney making a statement next ? I find it interesting that SA's lawyer has decided to now come out from the shadows right after BD hires an attorney who was all over the news yesterday making statements and giving interviews.

So what happened to the first attorney, I wonder? As of January 19 SA's attny was Sidney Lyle.

Attorney Sidney Lyle, of Odessa,
spoke with bigcountryhomepage.com over the phone earlier today but declined requests to have the conversation recorded for playback. Lyle also said he didn't feel it was time to do an on camera interview.

Lyle acknowledged that he was Adkins' attorney. He also confirmed he's told his client not to speak with anyone about the case.

During the call, Lyle said he felt he was making some progress in the case but said law enforcement needed to get farther into their investigation before he could comment about where things stood. He noted his client has been wrongfully accused.

The police investigation doesn't work around the schedule of her client or him for that matter. In due time. More Spin.

I'm really tired of hearing what Shawn feels in his heart.
Shawn had access to his grandmothers computer and printer, I wonder how many fliers he printed off, to do at least that in the search effort.
LE hasn't made an arrest, yet, because your client has used so many electronic devices for his sick hobby, that it takes time to go over all the overwhelming devices that have been used.

Interesting it states BD's father was arrested at some point too. We know her mom has and BD has as well.

yeah...lol...sounds like someone should have done some proofing and/or a little bit of research and search of the family themselves.

According to the letter - BD, her father and her grandmother have all been arrested since Hailey's disappearance.

WOW...wonder where he got this info (snark)

I think that was mis-written, he meant Hailey's father and grandmother, which would be Clint and Billie's mom.

Edit: Jo in Calif is too quick for me. ;)

This certainly doesn't look like a very professional letter from a law firm. They meant Clint, Hailey's father.

And SA's grandmother is in her 60's. Since when was that considered elderly? Wonder what she's ailing from? :waitasec:

My "guess" is the first attorney, Mr. Lyle, "dropped" Shawn as a client because Shawn kept speaking to the media, blog radio programs ... contrary to his attorney's advice.

:waitasec: :waitasec:

Maybe, he advised Shawn to stay away from Billie ... and we know he didn't listen to that advice ...

SA's new attorney's website...

http://barrettthomas.com/#

Interesting that he claims to have been retained a few days after the grandmother's computer was searched.

ETA: The website was just created Jan 21, 2011. I guess he's pro bono too?

I think we will be hearing alot from this attorney....he's very "wordy" in his letter...besides the wrong info too...

I think he's very green, this might be his first criminal case, and he's taking cues from BD's new lawyer. They're probably working together.

MOO
