UT - Stephen Coleman arrested for child rape, Bountiful, 2011
My prayers for these two young brave girls. And isn't it sad that it's necessary to say that a governor's staff member is "treated like everybody else"? The comments are interesting as several people seem bothered that the report was received around noon one day and Coleman was arrested 4 hours later. They don't seem to think that there could be enough time to gather evidence. All that's needed in an arrest such as this is a disclosure to trained professionals ie. a doctor, caseworker, police officer, therapist or a Children's Advocacy Center. Now, the facts will be presented to a grand jury and we'll see if they think there's enough evidence to proceed.
Member of Governor Gary Herbert's office arrested in child sex abuse case
"An analyst in Gov. Gary Herbert's Office of Planning and Budget has been arrested for investigation of multiple counts of child sex abuse. Stephen J. Coleman, 40, a budget and policy analyst for the governor's office, was arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail for investigation of 10 counts of object rape of child, 10 counts of sodomy of a child and 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
Coleman is accused of sexually abusing two female relatives, both under the age of 12, for several years, said Bountiful Police Lt. Sol Oberg. He was arrested Monday about 4 p.m. at his office at the Utah Capitol.
"We did not treat him differently. He was booked into jail like we would everybody else...."

I have to wonder if Coleman also had contact with children through his church.
"....One of Coleman's alleged victims -- each younger than 12 -- disclosed the alleged abuse to an adult..."
"...Coleman's wife, K, said in statement that the family was "shocked and devastated" by the allegations of abuse. "Our immediate focus is getting (the alleged victims) the support and help they need," KC said in a statement issued through the bishop of her Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints congregation...."
"....Coleman graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, in England, in 1996...."

"Stephen Coleman's arrest is not job-related, and he is on personal leave," said Ally Isom, spokeswoman for Herbert. "We will support and cooperate with authorities as they conduct their legal investigation."
Coleman graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, in England, in 1996.
According to a question-and-answer section on the school's website, Coleman said he is an analyst and policy adviser to the governor, with fiscal oversight for a portion of the state's budget. He also advises the governor on all matters relating to policy and pending state and federal legislation.
This guy was pretty high-powered and had control over allocation of where money is directed.
Makes me wonder where his job/personal life crossed boundaries.
