Inman found competent to stand trial
Hocking County Common Pleas Court has determined Sandra Inman is competent to stand trial for the murder of her daughter-in-law Summer Cook Inman in March, but the issue of her sanity at the time of the alleged offense has not yet been determined.
Sandra was charged with kidnapping and abduction in March, then with murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in September. She originally pleaded not guilty to the kidnapping and abduction charges, then changed her plea to not guilty by reason of insanity in April. She also pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the additional charges.

Change of venue for Inman denied
Hocking County Common Pleas Court Judge John Wallace has denied a motion for a change of venue in the William “Bill” Inman II case involving the kidnap and murder of his late wife, Summer Cook Inman.
Attorneys for Inman argued that because of the publicity from several news outlets regarding the case, it's impossible to receive a fair and impartial jury.

Summer Inman kidnap and murder trial set to proceed
A southeastern Ohio judge ruled that Sandra K. Inman was sane when she participated in the kidnapping and murder of her daughter-in-law Summer Inman, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The body of the young mother was discovered inside a church septic tank north of Nelsonville. A panel of psychologists evaluated the mother-in-law's competency in the bizarre small town murder. The victim's husband William Inman II and his father were also indicted on aggravated murder charges which include the possibility of a death sentence.

Logan Faces Costly Trials In Septic Tank Slaying
Officials and residents of a southeast Ohio county are concerned about bills the Appalachian area faces for three murder trials in the slaying of a woman found strangled in a septic tank last year.

Hocking County commissioners have put $100,000 into a fund to pay for the upcoming trials in 25-year-old Summer Inman's slaying, but they know that will not be enough, The Columbus Dispatch reported Sunday.

    Prosecution: Inman strangled estranged wife
William A. “Will” Inman II was face to face with his estranged wife when he strangled her with a zip tie cinched so tightly that it cut into her neck, the Hocking County prosecutor told jurors today in opening statements in his murder trial.

“William A. Inman II pulled that tie and he watched her face as she struggled and died,” Prosecutor Laina Fetherolf told the jury.

Then, Fetherolf said, he imposed the final indignity by dumping her body into an underground septic tank on the grounds of a church, her purse still on her arm.

Inman’s defense lawyers deferred making an opening statement until “a later time,” they told Common Pleas Judge John T. Wallace.
