UPDATE: Police Crime Scene Unit at Missing Great Falls Woman's Home

The Great Falls Police crime scene unit van is parked outside of Sherry Lankford's home on the southwest side of town.

“We’re seeking anything the public can give us as far as any information to where my sister might be. She doesn’t have her keys, her vehicle, her purse or any type of identification so we know she’s out there somewhere and we just want to know if there’s anybody that can help us trying to find her,” Scott tells us.

Crime Scene Unit Combs Through Sherry Lankford Residence

An update tonight on the Great Falls woman we’ve been telling you about, missing since the 13th, as the search continues.

[snip]

Authorities do confirm that at least two vehicles were seized from the property and as the video shows, detectives spent the afternoon going in and out of the home.

What exactly they were looking for, what, if anything, they found and what prompted this search, we don’t know at this time.

According to the family, Sherry lives at this residence with her 19-year-old son. They say she vanished, leaving behind her pick-up truck, keys, purse and identification.

Officials cannot confirm nor deny whether or not there are any suspects at this time.

Police search missing Great Falls woman's home

The Great Falls Police Department offered few answers after officers were seen Tuesday morning investigating the cordoned-off home of Sherry Lankford, a Great Falls woman missing since March 13.

[snip]

When she went missing, Lankford's door was left open, and her keys, wallet and other belongings were still in the house, and her vehicle was parked at the residence, Fowler said.

Surveillance tapes from Barrel O' Bucks, 527 Central Ave. W., show Lankford at the casino at close to midnight March 13, but they don't show anything suspicious, according to police.

Praying for Sherry. This doesn't sound good. :( I wonder where her son was during all this and if he's cooperating with LE.

At first they said she was last seen at home (which she shares with her son). But now they're saying she was last seen at the casino.

It's not making sense, though. The casino is only about a quarter mile from her home. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...s+MT&daddr=527+Central+Ave.+W.+Great+Falls+MT) So, I guess she could have walked. But if she left to go to the casino, she would not have left her wallet, even if she did leave her car. The more likely scenario, IMO, is that she came home after she was last seen at the casino, since all of her belongings were there. And THEN something happened.

I agree..it's most likely that she went to the casino, walked home, and then something happened. No one goes to a casino without their wallet.

No mention of a cell phone pings.
No mention of credit card activity.
No mention of any winnings from the casino.

No mention of any ex husband or boyfriend.
No mention of any co workers.
?

Nope. No mention of anything really. The first article I could find wasn't even until 3 days after she disappeared. And then only about 3 articles total up until the Crime Scene Unit got involved a few days ago.

The only family that has been mentioned is her son DC, age 19, whom she lives with, a brother SL, and a sister MF.

The family talks here: http://www.greatfallstribune.com/article/20110329/NEWS01/103290311 and here: http://www.kaj18.com/news/great-falls-woman-still-missing-family-seeks-information/

Just a question... Not implying anything...

If you lived with your mother, and she disappeared, leaving the door open, and her truck at home, and her wallet at home...would you wait 3 days to report her missing?

Yes, waiting three days is so odd, especially with her keys etc at home. Also take a look at the video with the family. The sons body language is odd, seems like he is acting. Just doesn't feel right when I watch it. Anyone else feel the same?

I feel the exact same. He seems a little fishy to me..almost like he was being forced to be there and is acting upset to go unnoticed.

Waiting 1 day I could understand. But 3? With all her belongings at home? I don't get it..

Also he didn't use any pronouns in his sentences...which means it is a sensitive topic to him....hhmmm Very hinky.

Sherry's son Derek said, "Trying to find my mom...just hoping for the best, and any [/B]information will help, Derek, Sherry's son, said. "I'm hoping somebody will step out and say something."

Well, I'm no behavior expert, so I'm not going to convict someone based on their behavior in a situation anyone would be upset and acting differently in. But I will say his demeanor on camera WAS a little odd.
