    More remains found in Manorville:
Skeletal remains found Friday evening in a rural area of Manorville are human and are estimated to have been there for about five years, according to Suffolk County police.

Suffolk homicide detectives returned to the scene of the gruesome discovery Saturday morning after a jogger and his dog discovered the remains at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The remains were found in a wooded area about 300 yards from North Street, near Robert Cushman Murphy County Park, covered with debris and leaves, police said.

Dead Body Found by Jogger in Manorville Park

A police spokeswoman said the remains were found near Route 111 and Oceanview Boulevard. The area is a few miles down the road from the area where a man walking his dog discovered human skeletal remains in the woods off Wading River Road along a trail behind his house on Feb. 17.

The body found in Manorville yesterday was female.

Suffolk County Police said the body had not been identified and the age was unknown. The female died at least a week ago, police said.

Today, Det. Lt. Jjack Fitzpatrick confirmed the skeletal remains found on Feb 17th were male, and the decedent had been dead for at least five years. He doesn't believe the remains are related to the woman's body found yesterday.

Fitzpatrick said this body is not believed to be related to a body found a few miles away off Oceanview Boulevard in Manorville on Tuesday and called the sites “two distinct dumping grounds.”

Fitzpatrick urged the public not to assume connections between the Gilgo murders and these two recent bodies found in Manorville...

More bones found on Long Island.

Another set of human remains was discovered in a wooded area of eastern Long Island that has become a dumping ground for bodies over the years, the authorities said on Saturday.

The question now is whether the skeletal remains, found on Friday evening by a man walking his dog on a trail in Manorville, represent an isolated death or is the latest clue in a continuing serial-killer case that is confronting investigators in Suffolk County.
The spokeswoman said investigators “cannot yet determine the age or gender of the remains.” ... which they said were believed to have been in the woods for several years based on the degree of plant growth around them.
It was early evening on Friday when Matthew J. Samuel, 30, discovered the bones in Manorville.
    ....

He was cutting through the woods after he had been out with his German short-haired pointer, Molly, searching for the shed antlers of deer, when he noticed “the top, cranial portion of the skull,” bleached white from exposure. “

    ...

They saw the outline of a body seemingly face up, with a foot-high blueberry bush growing through it.

“We saw the pelvis bones sticking out,” said Mr. Samuel.

The body, partly buried, was wrapped in a worn bedsheet. The sheet appeared to be covered in a black plastic garbage bag and wrapped with duct tape. Mr. Samuel did not see shoes. “I think it was barefoot,” he said.

The NaMus page has her age 18-40 and doesn't mention the possibility of her being Hispanic. could the title of thread be changed to reflect this if not too much trouble?

Look at post #5. It says the remains of body parts matches the DNA for remains found in Manorville. Year 2000. It goes on to say DNA of that same victim matches the DNA of the toddler found close by. Then it goes on to show a picture of the jewlry and a sketch. Wasnt the mother found at Jones Beach. Wasnt that the DNA match?

Yes you are right deedee this jane doe whose page we're on and whose sketch is in post 4 and 5 is not related to the unidentified toddler like it states in the posts. that came from earlier sloppy reporting. the toddlers relative as we all know now was found in Nassau county.

Unidentified victim matched by DNA to body parts found in 2000 about 45 miles away. The victim is also linked by DNA to the remains of an unidentified toddler found nearby.

The woman's torso was found in Manorville in November 2000. DNA analysis confirmed that the same woman’s head, hands and right foot were discovered along Ocean Parkway on April 4, Dormer said. She was described as a white woman between the ages of 18 and 35 believed to have last been seen in the late summer or early fall of 2000.

Asian man believed to be between the ages of 17 and 23, of who was found dressed in women’s clothing and also suspected of being a prostitute.

forensic analysis showed the man was not Yim Yeng Tsui, a Stony Brook University student declared missing in August 1998.

Here's a map of where each set of remains were found:

I know this is a long shot, but a Mom and toddler went missing from Massachusetts in a reported parental abduction. Karen Debra Black and her 2 year old daughter Shoshana were last seen in 1997. Image of Mom has similar facial features and a gold hoop earring. Hmmm..

A point of clarification Houston Mom, the sketch in the above posts are for a different victim than the mother/relative of the child. They haven't released a sketch of the mom. She's not even in Namus but the child is listed there under unsure sex/gender. It also list the postmortem interval 1 years.

Sorry about that LR1. Thank you for the clarification. I wonder why Long Island Mom is not on NamUs?
