GBI Heading Up Large Child Pornography Bust

"....."Mala is to die for in those pigtails," read one message."Just dropping in for a hot minute…to help out the dry spell, and to give everyone something to do for an afternoon," read another. They're hard comments to read-when you know that they were posted in a massive secret child pornography newsgroup on the web according to the FBI's website. Special FBI Agent Jim Harrison has seen child porn cases before, " It's a horrific crime. Anybody that engages in any crimes against children is not only a great concern to us, but the community at large."

Tuesday the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, was trying to bring justice to kids accros the state of Georgia in "Operation Innocent Justice". The FBI and 27 local agencies, including the Richmond county sheriff's office and the Columbia county sheriff's office assisted in executing 55 search warrants across the state and here in the CSRA. They confiscated the suspect's computers so they can run forensic scans to detect the child pornography...."

This confirms something I've long suspected. So often, those who are arrested and their supporters will yell and scream that it was an accident, that it was all part of a "package of adult porn". Pish tosh. The investigators are going after the people who have spend considerable time and energy downloading this stuff. Good. They also arrested a RSO. No doubt downloading child porn counts as a parole violation.

Child porn crackdown leads to arrests

"Authorities seized computers in Macon, Warner Robins and Houston County on Tuesday during a statewide crackdown on the distribution of child pornography over the Internet. One person -- a registered sex offender -- was arrested in Middle Georgia, but authorities said more arrests here are expected. More than 40 people were charged statewide.

Search warrants were served in 40 counties as part of a five-month investigation called “Operation Innocent Justice.” Led by the GBI and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, the operation involved 27 local agencies, five federal agencies, three U.S. Attorney offices and the Georgia Attorney General’s Office. The probe targeted the use of peer-to-peer software to share pornographic material. “Basically, what some of our Internet computer people have been doing is looking at the different software-sharing programs that are out there, such as LimeWire..."

    and

"...“Unfortunately, sometimes they don’t put the correct titles on the videos and sometimes they embed the videos in other files, so you could accidentally download something. But with the people we’re targeting, it’s not just one or two videos. It’s a large amount of videos they have in their possession, so they’ve spent a considerable amount of time downloading these videos.....”

    Pish Tosh!

Thank you for these informative links and for using the phrase Pish Tosh.

In all sincerity I have no clue about embedding and downloading and titles. However, any old person would have to know when you have ummmmm say 580 of anything you didn't accidently collect that. If I had 300 Mallo Cups in my kitchen did they get there by accident? If I owned 75 bikinis did someone else accidently put them in my drawer?

It's this vast amount of "collecting" that is causing these poor children to be exploited over and over again and opening the door for more children to be harmed.

    Go Georgia.

I thought you might like "pish tosh". I learned it from an expert...my gorgeous adult daughter who knows better than to swear like a trooper in front of her mother.

OK, I just checked back on this large bust and there's a statement here which literally made my heart just break in two. I've been tracking child porn traders and their arrests for 12 years and I've never seen a statement like this. You've been warned.

Child Pornography Can be Linked to Social Media

"...Mark Dobbins is a Richmond County investigator in charge of crimes against children. He talked about child pornography cases he has seen throughout the years. We asked him what was the youngest victim he had ever seen, "The youngest I've seen is a newborn that still had her umbilical cord," he said....."

Led by the GBI and the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, the operation involved 27 local agencies, five federal agencies, three U.S. Attorney’s offices and the Georgia Attorney General’s Office...."

    and
