Interesting how initial reports about Kliebert's arrest left out the little detail that he was not fully retired. He was sub-ing. I get so tired of school district officials denying that a person was or wasn't on school grounds. Human beings are not invisible and do the prosecutors really have to go to the trouble of subpoenaing students and staff about whether or not this man was there? For pity's sake, he sub-ed. How hard could it be to check the records? Gives parents a real high level of trust in their children's school. And the superintendent is "considering" sending out a letter to parents? Just dandy.

A detailed and head-imploding article about the sentencing phase of Kliebert's trial. OK, so we learn that Kliebert also sexually exploited a relative but the defense argues that he's NOT likely to "act on his impulses". WTH? What do they call the exploitation of the young girl?

And give me a break. The guy blames his wife's lack of interest in sex for his prurient "hobby"??? I guess these guys have to blame someone. Can't accept blame as that would just be far far too uncomfortable.

"....In addition, authorities later found out Kliebert exploited a minor niece, from the time she was 11 until 16 during piano lessons he gave to the girl years ago. Kliebert acknowledged he may have touched the girl inappropriately during warm-up exercises, court records show. Documents also show he showed her pornographic images of young girls on the computer for her to view.

Kliebert told officials his sexual interest in the materials centered on prepubescent girls and he felt isolated after his wife’s interest in sex declined after having children.

Still, Kliebert is not likely to act on his impulses, according to a psychiatrist’s report in the court file. Dr. Gerald Shiener, a distinguished fellow with the American Psychiatric Association, indicated in the report that Kliebert’s *advertiser censored* interests were more like a fetish than signs of pedophilia...."

Hmmm. Seems that the school district really didn't want the facts getting out there. I feel terrible for Kliebert's family but he's the one who hurt them....not the media.
