To the person who said JB owns or regularly uses a boat, do you have a link for that? Lots of people who live near the water don't own boats and don't like boating.

To the person who did the property search on blockshopper, and suddenly announced JB is a billionaire who owns loads of properties, please check White Pages. There are 100+ JB's listed in NY alone. How do you know which is which? http://www.whitepages.com/dir/ny/brewer/joseph

To the person describing the water as "cold" even in the middle of summer, the average sea temperature is 72 degrees in summer at Jones Beach. The water temperature today at Jones Beach is 44 degrees. the weather has been unseasonally cold this year, last year it would have been closer to the average for May 1st, which is 50 degrees. A water temperature of 10 C (50 F) often leads to death in one hour, but not 15 minutes. For that, the water would have to be close to freezing, which it could not have been at the time of year SG disappeared.

Someone who actually lives there, (and probably for more years than most people posting here have lived), whom I have been given no reason to doubt is not telling the truth, is directly contradicting the person who made the very long speech about people NEVER EVER getting washed out to sea, and that if you dropped a body in the water, it would just stay where you dropped it. The sea around Fire island would be an awfully stagnant body of water if that was true, I suggest someone needs to study up on water currents in the area and POST A LINK to back it up. In the meantime, I'm going with the neighbor and HE thinks it's quite likely she could have been taken out to sea. You can find the link for that interview on Newsday.com

This is going to be very sophisticated . . . consumer sleuthing, ... The degree of intelligence that you can compile this way is really mind-boggling.

Back to the Bus driver theory, What if SG did get away, headed towards the highway, or town and hopped on a bus. Where is the closest bus stop?

Hi, found this while googling "the drifter" can't post the link 'cause I'm not saavy enough but google "Bay Ridge Journal" or try
    http:bayridgejournal.blogspot.com/2011/01/body-dump-at-gilgo-beach
It's dated 1/29/11 (interesting) and most of what's written here I have seen in other papers by other writers. It may answer some of the questions you all have been posing...
Why do we think SG drowned? Is it because GC has said recently (within 2 days) that he now thinks she may have gone in the water? I don't recall reading that he ever said that before now...and he's given many interviews. Don't think he's wrong, but maybe a bit confused?
One more thing - what we have here is a "dumpsite" or "dumping ground" (IMO), and there's pretty much only one reason why SK's even HAVE a "dumpsite."

There are so many coincidences in this case. Not meaning to be insensitive, but some true crime writer is going to have a field day someday. Hopefully soon....hoping SK is caught soon.

Thought: Could JB have suggested his sister I*****'s name for AC's "sister". I know they are not the same person....but another big coincidink. Maybe he thought it would be funny? It is possible he may have know AC.

Soulmagent, I did see the article about the drifter and it did say his mom said he is in GA. I'll try to find the link.....

    Here we go:

I've seen very little mentioned about Mr. Drifter-guy.

here is a link to robert moses state part sea temps

    http://www.surf-forecast.com/breaks/...e-Park/seatemp

this gives the average since 1984 in may of 52 degrees

frankly when i lived there i wore a light wetsuit in may and early june...for me it was cold....

as far as currents...again i always thought it seems much faster and deeper after the brewer house going under the bridge..i am not a tide expert...however I do know someone who's son drowned not that far out and at the time they said they thought he had been caught in a riptide...but i'm sure LE can look at tide charts for the days SG went missing and make a much more expert opinion then i could ever..i'm only speaking from personal experience living at oak beach in the summers...

to add as well...she most likely wasn't wearing heavy clothing of any type...and if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol she would lose heat much faster and also not be aware she was in trouble...if she did go into the water to get away or hide...

    Sex Ring?

[reposting sans ph #s & escort site names]

Out of curiosity, I decided to backtrace the phone numbers. MW's phone number backtraces to a cell number belonging to an individual in Maine that does not seem to be related to this case in any way whatsoever. Iow, if that was a "hot" phone. Or, did her number cycle out that quickly? As for the two numbers connected to ALC? They are both unpublished land lines, listed as follows:

    1. XXX-XXX-XXX <- posted 5/14/2010, maps to within 2 miles of the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal.

    2. XXX-XXX-XXX <- posted 6/5/2010, maps to within 2 miles of Massapequa.
Again the above could be a result of cycling out. If it isn't, then, consider this.

Maureen B called from the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal, claiming she had been robbed and was on her way home. ( link ).

The killer checked Melissa B's voicemail from Massapequa. ( link )

Amber LC was reportedly last seen on Sept 2, 2010 ( link ) and I won't even get into the ber creepy factor of the pic in that news article...

Megan W was reportedly last seen on June 6, 2010 ( link )

Now add to the above mix, the crossover of escort names (which could be nothing more than coincidental).

Eta ~ from the reviews it seems ALC, her unnamed friend (who was reportedly missing as of January), and the pimp were setting up john's to run a scam... basically to rob them. At least one other john was questioned by LE regarding the other missing woman after ALC was found in December. Now factor in the two landlines, one near Massapequa and the other in NYC. And well?

I will research and form my own opinion. He might be insane,I dont now him. he could eat 12 xanax a day and smoke weed right after.

PLUS had she went into the water ,the dogs would have picked up her scent. LE was out that night looking for her or morning rather.

    This is quite interesting:
    http://www.newsday.com/news/weather/...land-1.1890538

    They were
expecting record high temperatures on Long Island May 1, 2010, with temperatures hitting the 80s. The warm weather will remain throughout the weekend, meteorologist Matt Scalora said.
    The previous month was the
warmest April on Long Island since records started being kept in 1984, with an average temperature of 53.4 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
George Gorman, deputy regional director for Long Island state parks, said workers have placed about 150,000 cubic yards of sand along the beachfront of Robert Moses State Park. He said they will continue the project, aimed at rebuilding the beach.

By Monday, temperatures are expected be in the 70s, Scalora said.
So they were doing beach replenishment in the area around the time SG disappeared....interesting. But I couldn't find any link for canine units being sent with police on the May 1st search, only the December one.
This is going to be very sophisticated . . . consumer sleuthing, ... The degree of intelligence that you can compile this way is really mind-boggling.

    Verity -

Not quoting your entire post for brevity but wanted to clarify a few things:

I can't imagine doing more than taking a quick dip in the Atlantic Ocean on Long Island on May 1st without a wet suit. I don't have a link but I can't imagine a person NOT getting hypothermia. The water is cold.

About the neighbor's position that SG slipped into the ocean: BOTH the neighbor and poster are correct. The water is not deep like a swimming pool where it meets the land. There is a beach and it would be impossible to run into someone's backyard and simply "slip" into the water. BUT, if SG ran out several feet onto a jetty or a dock, she then could have slipped in where the water was deep enough. She could not have "slipped" in at the shore. The water would be up to her ankles.

Here's a link to Seaslug44's excellent aerial image on the last thread: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/att...7&d=1302924346. You can see both the sandy beach and the jetties and docks in the backyards of the homes.

"In the area" but not at Oak Beach. Robert Moses is not on the same body of land as Oak Beach.
