    Bill Mayes, 75, was last seen early Tuesday near his home in Mason County. Authorities say he was wearing blue jean coveralls.

    Thank you so much for posting this and getting the word out more. Bill is related to me (his wife and my mom are 1st cousins). It's so sad.

    The family says they no longer believe Mayes became confused and wandered off, because they say he is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and did not show significant signs of confusion.

    Foul play also not been ruled out.

    Several volunteers have returned to work, so the family is asking for more volunteers to help on Thursday. People should arrive to the Mayes’ home on Ashton-Upland Road.

    ASHTON - The search for Bill Mayes, 75, of Ashton, has come to a tragic end as of early Friday afternoon.

    Search crews and volunteers began their sweep of 18 Mile Creek on Friday, and around 11 a.m., a body was found.

    Family members sadly confirmed it was that Bill Mayes.
