A Mills man charged with murder in connection with an infant's death last week was having "difficulty with the child crying and screaming" through the night, authorities say.

Hankins would tell authorities that he applied pressure to the baby's head for about five minutes, police said.

The doctor who performed the autopsy found evidence of a slap or punch to the child's head, as well as shaking.

Wow, whatever happened to walking away??

RIP baby boy :(

A judge sentenced a 19-year-old man to two decades behind bars Monday for the death of a 7-month-old in April...

In an effort to make the child quit sobbing, he took the boy’s head in his hands and squeezed and shook until it went quiet... The boy was pronounced dead after being found unconscious the following morning. An autopsy found the child died of a hematoma caused by blunt force trauma, authorities say.

Two months ago, Hankins pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
