WA - Anthony Terry for trafficking 17yo girl, Seattle, 2010
The power of a skilled trafficker knows no bounds. I'm hopeful that this young woman will get the treatment she needs. That treatment is hard to come by these days, however, and rarely lasts over 30 days. It's not nearly enough to break the horrible cycle....

"A Shoreline man convicted of pimping a teen girl out of a downtown Seattle hotel has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Facing a King County Superior Court judge Thursday, Anthony Terry was among the first defendants to be sentenced under stiffer penalties for pimping children recently enacted by the state Legislature. Terry, 31, was arrested in June during a sting conducted by detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s high-risk victims unit. At the time, Terry was pimping a 17-year-old girl whom he’d met at the Shoreline apartment complex where he lived.
Following his arrest, Terry made more than 30 phone calls from King County Jail to the girl. Recordings of the calls showed him ask that she continue working as a prostitute to provide him with financial support, and that she not cooperate with investigators...."
"...Terry’s control of the teen – now 18 – continued through the trial and to the present. As she had at the bench trial that saw Terry convicted of pimping her and a woman, the teen adamantly disputed the allegations against Terry while addressing the court on Thursday.
“I was never a victim, and Anthony Terry was never my pimp,” the teen told the judge over the phone...."
"...Reviewing recordings of phone calls Terry made from jail, detectives heard Terry instructing the teen to continue working as a prostitute. He also admitted he was her pimp...."
"....“The defendant begged (her) to get her story straight with his and agree not to give him up to authorities,” [Senior Deputy Prosecutor, Sean] O’Donnell told the court. “The defendant charismatically played off of (her) ‘love’ for him in eliciting her promises to stick to ‘the story’ and not cooperate....”
