NC - Corey Gallisdorfer, UNC freshman, Child Sex Charges
"FBI arrests UNC freshman on child sex charges"
Jesus...this kid had it "all", too. Friend emailed me the info - he/she went to high school with him. I'm sure more will be released soon...can't post hearsay, but apparently there was a LOT on his laptop and it took 3 times as long to extract as most cases. I can get "verified" if anyone would like me to for this case. Geeze. Praying for these kids. I hope it wasn't direct contact.

"A UNC freshman who was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday allegedly posed as a 14-year-old girl online, then first enticed and later threatened 12- and 13-year-old boys to send him sexually explicit images of themselves."
This monster was already on peer-to-peer trading networks. Lovely. Also a National Merit Scholar.
REALLY, REALLY glad he was stopped at 19. Who knows what could have happened beyond this given time?
He'll have a great time in prison. No one likes pedo's.

One more thing - he asked for his attorney as soon as they walked in? Can we say....admission of guilt?
"Gallisdorfer, as the agents entered the apartment, demanded to speak to an attorney," the affidavit stated. "He was not in custody at that time."

Sorry hunny....your parent's money will NEVER get you out of this one.

Another article where Gallisforfer's attorney says, "He comes from a great family," Freedman said. "(Gallisdorfer) needs to be afforded a presumption of innocence. People shouldn't jump to conclusions.
OH BOY! Really?!??! Was it a school "project" or something?

Sorry: here's the link to above article with quote from attorney: http://www2.journalnow.com/news/2011...oe-ar-1009022/

ETA: My heart BREAKS for his family. I'd bet my last dollar they had no clue...just as a lot of other families do not. I hope the community gives them the hugs and love they need. They have a hard road ahead of them and have lost a son (no matter the circumstances). Of course, the families of the victims have my full heart as well. (That's not an afterthought...but you kwim)

ughh. i hate the whole "give him a break, he's from a good family" attitude. that being said, i feel absolutely awful for his family. obviously they cared about him and his education very much. too bad he went and screwed it all up.
