Endangered Missing from Washington DC since August 2, 2010

Age: 18 -- Height: 5'3" -- Weight: 165 lbs -- Hair Color: Black -- Eye Color: Brown

Latisha has a tattoo of "Diamond" on her right arm. She may go by the nickname "Lil Pooh".


Latisha was last seen in Washington DC on August 2, 2010. She was last known to be in an apartment with a group of people.

In January, Latisha's family began receiving threatening messages on Facebook. The messages claimed Latisha was dead, and threatened other members of her family. Subsequently, six people (including 3 teenage girls) were arrested and documents were released saying that Latisha was killed because someone thought she had stolen money. They then placed her body in a dumpster. Her body has yet to be found.

DC mom laments stunted search for missing daughter

Caroline Frazier has spent months dreading that her 18-year-old daughter may be buried 70 feet deep in a mammoth landfill. Making matters worse, she says, is that no one is searching for her there.

One of the five people charged with murder in Latisha Frazier's presumed death told investigators the teen's body was left in a Washington garbage bin that gets emptied into a landfill outside Richmond, Va.

Yet District of Columbia police and prosecutors who have spent months on the case have opted against a search, saying excavating the landfill would be dangerous, expensive and have minimal chance of success -- especially since authorities aren't even positive her body is there. A judge agreed last month, denying a public defender's request to order the search.

Police Suspect Teen is Buried in Chester Landfill But Will Not Search

Last August police say 18-year-old Latisha Frazier was killed in a Washington D.C. apartment. One of the five people now charged with her murder claims her remains were put in a nearby dumpster. Police believe that trash gets emptied in to a Chester landfill.

why aren't they searching the landfill? why hasn't a judge ordered it? i'm upset that i live in the area and only now am i hearing about this. though, it does seem there has been at least some local coverage, so maybe i have just missed it. her smile is beautiful, it struck me right away.
 
This is so sad that a family cannot give their loved one a resting place. Her poor mama and daddy, I cannot imagine the pain.

DC Woman Pleads Guilty to Latisha's Murder

A District of Columbia woman has pleaded guilty to her role in the death of a teenager whose body has been missing since last year.

Cinthya Proctor pleaded guilty in D.C. Superior Court on Friday to second-degree murder and other charges. She faces up to life in prison when she is sentenced in November.

Proctor admitted being part of a group that killed Latisha Frazier in August 2010. Frazier was suspected of stealing money from a member of the group. She was beaten, bound with tape, and her body was disposed of in a trash bin. Multiple other people besides Proctor have also been charged in Frazier’s death.

Co-defendant in Latisha Frazier murder, kidnapping case pleads guilty

A 21-year-old man from Southeast Washington pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder and kidnapping charges in connection with the summer 2010 beating death of District teenager Latisha Frazier.

Laurence Kamal Hassan, 22, is one of six defendants — three male and three female — charged in Frazier’s slaying. Four have pleaded guilty, and two are scheduled for trial.

On January 21, 2011, a tip from the public resulted in the arrest of a male suspect and later several other suspects who were accused of killing the child and placing her body in a dumpster.
