I always worry when judges allow a convicted person to delay a prison term. There's a lot on the line here.

And it ought to be interesting to see how a man is prevented from owning or accessing a computer upon his release in 15 years. The can barely keep track of where the perps are living--much less what technology is in their homes.

IMO, the judge is certainly sending a strong message. I just hope it works.

Computer shop owner sentenced for child *advertiser censored*

"A Coos County [OR] computer repair shop owner was sentenced Friday to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of receiving, possessing and distributing child *advertiser censored*. U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken also ordered Lakeside resident Jeffery Lew McCadden, 52, to pay $106,000 in restitution to three abused children whose images he viewed and shared via the Internet.

She ordered him to pay an additional $20,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. And she ordered him placed on lifetime supervised release after he completes his prison term, which he begins serving in two months...."

"...In September 2008, agents executed search warrants on McCadden’s home and his “Gamer’s Galaxy” computer shop in Coos Bay. They found on his computers nearly 5,000 images and 140 videos of children being molested and raped. Infants and toddlers were among the victims...."
