Sweden~23 women arrested for receiving child porn

We had a story about a group of women arrested last year in Sweden for child porn. I think this one must be different however. In this case, the sole man supplied the women with the porn. Some women seem to be willing to do anything to get attention from a very sick man. SHAME!!!! Because of privacy laws, it's very hard to follow these cases.

Sweden: 23 women suspected of child pornography

"Twenty-three women and a 43-year-old man were charged Friday with child pornography offenses in what investigators say is a unique case because of the number of female suspects. Charges filed with the Falun district court in central Sweden say the women, aged between 38 and 70, received scores of sexually explicit video clips and photographs of children from the man, who is the main suspect in the case, and discussed them with him online in graphic detail. The material included girls and boys of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers...."

    and

"...The man was charged with aggravated child pornography, a crime punishable with up to six years in prison, while the women faced a lesser charge that would result in a conditional sentence or a maximum of two years in prison...."

Here's our earlier thread. It is becomes clear that they're related. I'll ask that they be merged:

Why do you assume they were doing it solely for the attention of a man? Is it unthinkable they were aroused by the content as well?

That was my assumption as in the vast majority of child porn cases I've read which involve women, the females seem to be either trying to impress a man or are doing his bidding for "favors". I've yet to see a thread (not to say it's not there) where adult women passed around child porn with no man involved at all. You know, I've yet to see a thread or a news article about a group of lesbian women being caught up in a child sting.

This statement from my link above is what led me to that assumption:

"..."They [the women] expressed themselves in positive terms about the images. And they shared sexual fantasies about the children," [Prosecutor, Niclas] Eltenius said. Most of the women have admitted to receiving the material, but say they "wrote things that they thought he wanted to hear in order to remain in contact with him," Eltenius told AP.

Some of the women are suspected of passing the material on to others. Two of them are also accused of taking pictures of children in their surroundings and sending them to the main suspect. No money was exchanged and the women were not coerced in any way, Eltenius said. He added that the man met and had sexual relations with about half the women accused, who had no contact with each other...."

IMO, it's another case of a suave but sick man preying on unstable women to do his dirty work. Note that he had sexual relationships with about ten of them and yet they never met. They probably each thought they were special in his eyes. As to the comment about "passing the images on to others", I have to wonder if that was to another woman or to a man.

Are they as guilty as him? Heck yes. They surely could have reported him at any time.

Yep, a man was at the center of all this mess. However, emotional frailty is NO EXCUSE to exchange, discuss nor create child porn. How many women here have been "mentally worn out" or emotionally fragile at some point in their life? Raise your hands. I thought so. Every single one of us. But did we follow the instructions of some sick creep and hurt children or contribute to their abuse? No. The sentences and fines are appalling. The fact that the perps cannot be named is unacceptable to me.

Sweden: 23 women convicted of child pornography
    October 18, 2011

"A Swedish court on Tuesday convicted 23 women and one man of child pornography offenses in what investigators called a unique case because of the number of female perpetrators...."

    and

"....The court said the women received scores of sexually explicit video clips and photographs of children from the man and discussed them online with him. Some said they liked the images or shared sexual fantasies about the children, and one woman sent pornographic images of children to the man, the court said. The material showed girls and boys of various ages, from toddlers to teenagers...."

    and

The man made contact with the women on the Internet and had sexual relations with about half of them, but they had no connection to each other, the court said. Some 1,181 pictures and 40 films with child pornography were found in the man's computer, including brutal images of shackled children being raped by adults....."

    and

"....the man appeared to be seeking out women that had been "struck by tragedies within the family, or had been generally mentally worn out." "Even though they (the women) ... obviously must take full responsibility for their actions, nothing else can be said than that he has abused their weak psychological state and longing for human contact....."

    and

"....In Sweden, defendants in such cases are not named by the nation's media...."
