'Old' human remains found in LA County back yard.

Associated Press - May 21, 2011 2:04 AM ET
EL MONTE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say human remains have been found at a home in El Monte east of Los Angeles, and the man who led deputies there is under arrest.
The Sheriff's Department said in a statement that the remains were found Friday buried in the home's back yard.
Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says a man earlier called the nearby Alhambra Police Department to report the location of the remains, and he later led sheriff's deputies to them when they took over the case.

Here are 11 females, age 17 or older, missing from the vicinity of El Monte CA:

The newsclip indicated that the tipster/suspect wasn't currently residing at the home where the body was located, and the current resident was not involved in the case.

Thank you.Yes I saw that.I was wondering if the tipster lived in and was from the area now or possibly lived in another state now and just went to LE and report these remains. It sounds like he went to the police department.I guess it doesn't say. Also in the video it says they are doing like an archaeological dig?looking for like fossils? The remains do sound kind of old.

One of the articles did say that the "tipster" called the Alhambra PD-- I wonder if he was living there...

ETA- ok, the KTLA one says that he contacted the "Alameda" PD--- I'll look for the other info and see if I just read it wrong. At any rate, it could be that he was living in one of those two cities...

EATA- it's the KABC link that says "Alhambra"

I didn't include Angelica in my previous list because the victim was described as an adult. But, of course, she could have been missing several years prior to her death.
I agree.I just put Angelica because she was missing from El Monte California.I hope we hear more information on age, description, jewelry, clothes if found ect...soon.

The tipster is Johnny Huynh. He is 27 years old from Rosemead. The remains (believed by detectives to be those of an Asian woman between 40 to 60) were found in the 9400 block of Cortada Street.

Don't have a lot of time right now and I live on the other side of the country so I'm not familiar with the geography of CA (I know it's a large state) but I did a quick search and came up with this woman. The details are a little confusing though. Says she was last seen in CA (again not sure of the geography so don't know how close these remains are to where she was last seen) but she's from Guam and it's believed she is buried under a swimming pool in Guam. So not sure if it could even be her. Also, she disappeared in 1995, and Johnny Huynh is stated as 27 now, so he would have only been around 11 when this woman disappeared. I wish they would tell us how "old" the remains are...that would help narrow the time frame down. If he's the murderer and he's 27 now, you would figure the remains would likely be no more than 10 (give or take) years old, though I know there are plenty of cases where people very young have murdered, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that an 11-year-old would commit murder, but they usually get caught right away (in all the cases I can remember anyway).
