Today, a jury will hear opening statements in the Casey Anthony trial.

Baez said that some who have watched the case may be surprised by his team's opening argument.

Fifty courtroom seats will be available to spectators each day of the trial.

A line of people waiting for the proceedings stretched around the courthouse by 5 a.m.

Casey Anthony trial: How many will get inside the courtroom?

Dozens of people arrived at the Orange County Courthouse before 6 a.m. today hoping to score tickets to the first day of the Casey Anthony trial.


About 42 people had arrived by 5:31 a.m.

Only those with these passes, which are given on a first-come, first-serve basis; credentialed media and legal teams, can access the 23rd floor for the duration of the trial.

Passes will be reissued at 1 p.m. for any seats vacated after the lunch hour.

Courthouse parking garage on Orange Avenue will open at 5:30 a.m. Parking is $2.00 per hour or a maximum of $15.00 per day.
