WA - Christopher Milam, 51, Spokane Valley, 24 April 2011

Detectives ask for help finding man missing since April

Spokane County sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate a 51-year-old Greenacres man who disappeared April 24 after an argument with his wife.

Christopher R. Milam had been drinking April 23 and after they argued, his wife hid all the car keys so he could not drive, according to a news release by sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan. When she awoke Saturday morning, Milam was gone.

The wife told detectives it appeared he took medication and four or five hundred dollars in cash, but left his wallet, identification and credit cards at their home in the 19800 block of East First Court.

The wife said the couple had just moved here from Texas and that Milam has no local family. She said he was carrying a cellular phone, but that it is either shut off or the battery is dead and it is not working.

Spokane help requested for missing man (Christopher Milam)

A missing Spokane man has baffled both his family and the Spokane Sheriff's Office. Christopher Milam has been missing since April 23rd, but now the Sheriff's major crimes detectives are asking the public for help. The case may be a bit cold at this point, but it appears that leads and avenues of the current investigation have not yielded any positive results.

so the search of cheap, cash motels within a 30 miles radius didn't turn up anything?

Weather for 04/23 was between 30 & 55F and that was the coldest day until the 29th. No rain until the 25th.

If he just moved over from Texas, did he find new drinking buddies in town? Is he an outdoors guy? Any colleague has an unused fishing lodge nearby he would know about?

GreenAcres is right along the I-90... Is he slowly making his way back to TX hitchhiking the heartland?

It's been over a month now that he's been missing and no sign of him anywhere?

If he drinks a lot, he could be with some buddies somewhere.
If he drinks occasionally and got mad because she took away the keys,
he could have decided to just stay gone
    or
he could have ran into trouble, with that much money on him.

If they moved here recently from TX, was it because they had a better job?
Is he working? If so, it would seem he did not his employer either.

WA - Human remains identified as Christopher Rembert Milam

A man walking his dogs stumbled on a human skeleton Saturday in the 20000 block of Henry Road in Liberty Lake. The report was called in to police at 11:45 a.m. Police Chief Brian Asmus said the remains were on a hillside above the road. The clothed skeleton was partially hidden by rocks and brush and a semiautomatic pistol was found nearby, Asmus said.

Police believe the remains may be those of a missing man but can't confirm the identity until after an autopsy and next of kin have been notified. That autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:30.

Confirmed as suicide... rest in peace Christopher

    http://m.spokesman.com/stories/2012/...h-was-suicide/

Investigators have determined that a man found dead Dec. 31 off Henry Road committed suicide, said Liberty Lake police Chief Brian Asmus. The skeletal remains of Christopher R. Milam, who was reported missing in April, were found next to a gun. A bullet was recovered and a second search turned up the shell casing as well, Asmus said.

Police talked to several family members before making the determination of suicide, Asmus said, and Milam was found in an area he was known to frequent. “We wanted to make sure,” he said. “He used to go for walks up there.”
