One morning in June, the daughter she described as a tomboy, jumped in the truck with her stepfather as he drove into town to go to the bank. He gave Marler a $1 bill to buy a soft drink from the gas station across the street with instructions to meet him back at the truck.

After Marler’s disappearance, she was reportedly seen by three people on three different occasions in the company of a man. Each witness described the man to police as husky with a weathered complexion. He would have been near 50 years old when sighted with Marler, according to police reports. He was described as being about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and having noticeable crow’s feet at his eyes.

"My daughter went missing on June 6, 1984. She went into town that morning with her step-dad. He had some business to take care of and she went with him," Stringfellow said. "She wanted something to drink, so he gave her a dollar to go to the vending machine and told her to meet him back at the truck."

Sherry was 12 years old at the time and she has never been seen since.

"She was such a tomboy. We had a farm and she loved to stay out there with her step daddy and he would take her with him to the tractor shop and the feed store. He looked in all those places for her, but nobody had seen her," Stringfellow said. "That's when our nightmare started 30 and a half years ago."

Hello, I hardly ever post anything...imo something really fishy about this case..Sherry was just 12 years old and pregnant, just a child! Has anybody seen the Facebook page for her?

I saw it too. Along with photos purportedly showing Sherry’s decapitated head with a hog.

It's quite a disturbing and shocking story, I hope someone who knows something takes notice.

This is a very strange story. I can’t go with the notion yet that it’s a severed head in that picture. People will see what they want to see. And the whole pregnancy thing? Where is this info coming from? Who’s the father? Where’s the outrage? 1984! If my 12 year old daughter was pregnant he’ll no would I let her out of my sight! None of this passes the smell test 30+ years later.
