Jury To See Casey Jailhouse Videos
Conversations With Family To Be Shown In Court

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors plan to show the jury videos of Casey's jailhouse visitation conversations with her family within the next day or so.

The taped conversations could be some of the strongest evidence against Casey Anthony.

“Somneone just said that Caylee was dead this morning, that she drowned in the pool,” Cindy Anthony said to Casey in one of the calls.

“Surprise, surprise,” Casey answered.

Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick said she estimated the state’s case would take up to two more weeks to present.

The prosecution said they are ready to let the jury watch Casey's jailhouse videos. Those are her conversations she was having with her parents and her brother Lee when the search was still on on for missing Caylee.

Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick said she wants to start showing the videos in chronological order no later than Friday.

Casey Anthony trial: Day 8 of the trial begins today at 9 a.m.

The eighth day of the Casey Anthony trial will resume this morning at 9 a.m. at the Orange County Courthouse.

State prosecutors are expected to call more witnesses today as it continues to build its case against the 25-year-old woman accused of killing her child, Caylee Marie Anthony, in the summer of 2008.

Melich asked, hadn’t Casey Anthony contacted authorities 31 days earlier when her daughter went missing?

"I think part of me was naive enough to think I could handle this on my own," she told him. "Obviously, I couldn’t."

She expressed "fear of the unknown." But she denied hurting her daughter and insisted the nanny was the last person with whom she had seen Caylee.

Melich asked if there was anything else. "I just want my daughter back," Casey Anthony said before swearing she had told the truth.

Defense attorney Jose Baez tried to introduce blogs meant to undermine Melich’s credibility, but he was not allowed to admit them.

Baez, asked to have redacted certain portions of jail-visitation videos the state wants to show in court. His request was denied. Perry reminded Baez of a December deadline for these types of motions. Perry said, "There is no time to redact the portions you are talking about. That’s why we have deadlines."


Neither the prosecution nor the defense asked Lee Anthony whether he had inappropriately touched Casey Anthony, as has been alleged in previous testimony. Lee Anthony’s attorney has denied those allegations.

Lee Anthony’s testimony today could be pivotal in his sister’s murder trial, TV analysts agreed.

The brother testified that her sister described herself as a “spiteful *****” when he tried to persuade her to let the family see Caylee. Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Caylee, her daughter.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors continued to unravel Casey Anthony's statements Thursday as they called a man to the stand by nearly the same name as a so-called "imaginary friend" of Casey's.

Jeff Hopkins testified that he knew Anthony from middle school and did work at Universal Orlando at one point.

That's where the similarities stop between him and Jeffrey Michael Hopkins, one of the only two people Casey initially told authorities she shared word of Caylee's disappearance with.

Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez aggressively questioned the lead investigator in the young woman's murder case this morning just before the trial broke for a lunch-time recess.

Baez focused on the series of lies Casey Anthony told Yuri Melich and then his decision to allow her to lead him and other investigators through Universal Orlando to her supposed workplace, while knowing all along that she was not employed at the park at that time.

Jurors this afternoon are watching a video-recorded jail visitation between Casey Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy, from July 2008 during the young woman's first-degree murder trial.

In the video, Cindy told Casey that everyone in the United State is looking for Caylee and the little girl's photo will appear on the front ofPeople magazine.

Cindy also asks Casey to look in a certain direction so she could get a good look into Casey's eyes.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The state exposed lie after lie from Casey Anthony on day 19 of her murder trial Thursday. However, Orange County Detective Yuri Melich saw through them all.

Jurors listened Thursday to her nearly hour-long interview with detectives the day after her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was reported missing in 2008.

"Every single thing you've told us is a lie," Melich said to Casey during a recorded interview.

Day 19 focused on lies, lies to detectives and lies to Casey's family.
