Investigator says person of interest in case of missing woman no longer cooperating
    http://www.semissourian.com/story/1734279.html
A tense scene unfolded at the Common Pleas Courthouse in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday when the family of Jacque Sue Waller came face to face with her estranged husband, who on Monday was named a person of interest in the mother of three's June 1 disappearance. A family member and Clay Waller were separated by courthouse security after a brief but heated exchange.

    from lynnb link above:

"At the point of her last known contact with other family members that's where we lose contact and he can't provide any details other than the fact they argued over the divorce situation and she left on foot from the address on Woodland," major case squad deputy commander Lt. David James said Monday. She left 1121 Woodland Drive around 4 p.m., he added.

James said Clay Waller then left the residence and returned around 6 p.m. to find Jacque Waller's vehicle gone. Other witnesses interviewed told the case squad they saw her vehicle at his home as late as 8:30 p.m.

this article has a better pic of him and some info that was new to me.

Meanwhile, Jacque Waller's sister says that Waller was scared of her estranged husband and said he was "not stable." The sister now has custody of the Wallers' five-year-old triplets.

Clay Waller is a former Cape Girardeau County deputy who has tried -- unsuccessfully -- to run for public office in recent years. More recently, he was a partner in a construction business that went belly up last December. He remains in the area and is reportedly in contact with police.

Meanwhile, Heartland News expected to hear from her estranged husband, Clay Waller. He expressed his interested to an interview Monday, but Tuesday did not answer his phone.

I'm disappointed, I really wanted to see how convincing he could be while lying.

When Jacque Sue Waller left her sister's Ste. Genevieve, Mo., home June 1, she was the happiest her family had seen her in months. A year had passed since the mother of triplets had first announced she wanted a divorce, but Wednesday she planned to finally file the papers in Cape Girardeau.

"She felt like everything was falling into place. She was so excited to get moved back here and back home," said Cheryl Brenneke, Waller's sister.

The divorce papers were never filed, and Waller was reported missing late Wednesday by her family.
Waller worked as a deputy for seven years and up until December co-owned Triple C Construction in Marble Hill, Mo., with Marsha Steger. The two started the business in 2006, handling mostly general contracting work. Last year, the two switched their focus to road construction and were hired for a project on Route W.

"That ended the company. We went broke on that job," Steger said Monday.

While Steger added she knew little about Clay Waller's personal life, he was skilled in contracting work. He is intelligent, she said, and could learn "just about anything." She last spoke with him about two weeks ago to tie up some loose ends with their business.

The family of the missing Jacque Sue Waller speaks with officials outside the Common Pleas Courthouse in Cape Girardeau after a custody hearing Tuesday.
From right are sister Cheryl Brenneke, father Stan Rawson, brother-in-law Bob Brenneke and mother Ruby Rawson.

Stan and Ruby Rawson, Jacque Waller's parents, said their daughter would never leave her children. Leaving would be completely unlike her, they said.
"The out-of-character part is that she would not come home because she loved to come home," Stan Rawson said. She was prepared to be a parent the day she found out she was pregnant, they added.
Brenneke said her sister was a relaxed mother.

"I remember when they were little, it made me so nervous for her to take them to the mall, but she was relaxed," Brenneke said. "I was just so impressed with her from the day they were born how she could just laugh at all of it. ... It just didn't get to her."

The family believes an arrest will be made in connection to Jacque Waller's disappearance, but they're not expecting to see their loved one alive again, they agreed Tuesday.
"I've got extreme confidence in the police in this," Stan Rawson said. "I don't have any confidence at all she's coming back."

I live about 90 miles north of Cape Girardeau, and my local news just broadcast an interview with Jacque's father. He says Jacque told him, within the last few weeks, that her husband was going to kill her and dump her in the river.

Local police consulting FBI on Waller case

    Wednesday, June 8, 2011 ~ Updated 4:10 PM
By Erin Hevern ~ Southeast Missourian
The St. Louis division of the FBI is monitoring the Jacque Waller missing person case closely, but is not officially investigating the woman's June 1 disappearance, a spokeswoman for the agency said Wednesday.

"Jackson is so close to the state line and so, generally speaking, if there was evidence of a crime that's been committed across state lines the FBI does have jurisdiction," said Rebecca Wu, public affairs specialist.

The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad is still investigating Waller's disappearance, although the group didn't release any new information regarding the case Thursday morning. Lt. Rodney Barnes, case squad public information officer, said the FBI is assisting them unofficially for consultation purposes.

Wow Daisyjane, I guess we know why the family felt he killed her from day one.

Guess he's pulling a TMH huh?

Here's the interview I saw, with video, at this link:

    http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/262...ets-speaks-out

In our interview, Jacque's parents shared details the police have not released, and will not confirm. Her parents say Jacque had told them for months that her husband had threatened to kill her, but refused to let them get involved."No more than two weeks ago she was saying that," Stan Rawson said. "She says he's gonna kill me and throw me in the river and I'll never be found."

Interesting that she is an employee of BCBS. The husband of Gail Nowacki is an employee of BCBS as well, although from a different state. I am not sure if TN + MO are under the same ownership, but regardless, the brand is taking a bit of a hit.

It is sickening that a woman, scared for her life, seemingly can do nothing about it until it is too late. But I do wish she had not gone to his home by herself, if she feared he would kill her...(NOT blaming her, before anyone lectures me.)
    Just my opinion, of course.

Defining Jacque Sue Waller: Family, friends, co-workers reflect on missing area woman

    Thursday, June 9, 2011
By Erin Hevern ~ Southeast Missourian
    Submitted photo

Jacque Sue Waller, the woman missing from Jackson since June 1, knew the risks of in vitro fertilization. It may not work, a doctor told her more than five years ago, or worse, it would and she'd carry the triplets to term and one, or maybe two of them, wouldn't survive.

It didn't scare her, though; Waller wanted babies. All she wanted was to be a mother.

"When she decided she wanted children, she went about that in a big way. The doctor implanted three eggs," said Stan Rawson, Waller's father. "It wasn't long before she looked like she had a Volkswagen under her shirt."
Fast-forward five years and the bubbly, blonde 39-year-old was spending a May afternoon at her sister's in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., teaching her son and two daughters how to ride their bicycles. The day, according to Waller's sibling Cheryl Brenneke, is described by her sister as the best of her life.
"We've got it on video," Brenneke said Tuesday, trying to hold back tears. "She was proud, proud of that. She was proud of those babies."

Less than a month since then, Brenneke has custody of Waller's three children, who like Brenneke, haven't seen their mother in seven days.

Jacque Waller was last seen by her estranged husband, Clay Waller, near his Jackson residence on Woodland Drive. The two have been married 17 years.

Wonderful story about Jacque, much more at link.

She sounds like a person I would have as my friend. This case is just heartbreaking, one that you keep asking God "why her" ...

STE. GENEVIEVE, MO (KFVS) - Search crews are back out searching the area Thursday for signs of Jacque Waller.
Crews are continuing to follow leads and are beginning to search new areas.

Clay Waller is still a person of interest, and investigators tell Heartland News Waller has not provided police with any new information since last Wednesday. No official suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made.

The Cape Girardeau-Bollinger County Major Case Squad now confirms another theory investigators have. They believe whoever drove Jacque Waller's SUV and left it on the interstate, may have left on a bicycle.

Investigators also confirm while Jacque's purse and phone were missing from her SUV, her laptop was recovered from her vehicle. Her family members say that piece of evidence will be crucial in this case.

"It had a diary in it," said Stan Rawson, Jacque's father. "That was a bad, bad, bad mistake that you'll be hearing about more in the months to come."

Jacque's father is focusing his energy on justice.

"I think from six last evening, I don't think Jacque's on this earth anymore--her spirit's not," said Stan Rawson. "I think we're talking about recovering her body at this point."

While they want to stay hopeful, Stan and Ruby Rawson believe their daughter is never coming home. "Don't have any hope they'll find her alive," said Ruby Rawson, Jacque's mother.

Hopefully there will be something in that diary that helps LE!

Interesting about the bike, I wonder if this came from a witness?
