Still no news on Bung today.

It has been so chilly in Melbourne this weekend and every time I feel cold I think about Bung wearing only her school dress & raincoat and I want to cry.

UPDATE: BORONIA teenager Siriyakorn “Bung’’ Siriboon has not been found since going missing on Thursday.

Police are still searching for the teenager this morning, after her father issued a plea to find his adopted 13-year-old daughter on Friday.

...

He said it was “completely out of character” for the “streetwise” teenager to disappear.

“I had just got home from nightshift and she ate her breakfast and said goodbye to us just like she normally does,’’ Mr Pattison said.

“There were no major arguments; we’re a close family.

‘’The school didn’t alert us to the fact that she had been absent that day, so we had no idea she was missing.”

Bung and her sister Siriporn “Bang’’ Siriboon, 20, have been living in Australia for four years.

Mr Pattison said Bung was not fluent in English, but she could communicate effectively.

“We miss her, we just want her home safe,’’ Mr Pattison said.

“She’s gentle, shy; she cares about other people’s feelings.

“If she has problems or anything she’s dealing with, we want her to know that she can talk to us about it.

“If anyone even thinks that they’ve seen her, call the police.’‘

ETA: This article quotes Fred Pattison as Bung's adoptive father. He has elsewhere been referred to as her stepfather.

Disturbing is the way the Knox Leader article has worded this sentence:

"Mr Pattison said Bung was not fluent in English, but she could communicate effectively."

Awful.

MOO

ETA : All quotes attributed to Fred Pattison show that he consistently speaks of Bung in the present tense. This is not a direct quote of Mr Pattison.

UPDATE 5pm: POLICE have not ruled out abduction in the case of a missing Boronia teenager.

Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon, 13, has not been seen since she said farewell to her mother Vanidda and step-father Fred Pattison at 8.20am last Thursday morning before she left for school.

Members from Knox Police met with the Knox Crime Investigation Unit (CIU), which has taken over the investigation, this afternoon.

Knox CIU detective Sen-Constable Ian Brown said while there was nothing to suggest Bung had been abducted, it could not be ruled out.

“At this stage, there’s no reason to believe Bung is not in the area,” Sen-Constable Brown said.

“We’re hoping for the best possible scenario which would be she’s gone off with a friend.

“She might think she’s in trouble with her parents which is delaying her showing her face.”

Sen-Constable Brown said Bung’s parents would be interviewed tonight.

“They are obviously very concerned as this is an act out of character for Bung,” he said.

Mr Pattison told the Leader this morning that the lack of information on Bung’s disappearance was evident and asked the public to “keep an eye out” for his adopted daughter.

“We don’t want to know who or what or why or how, we don’t want to blame anyone, we just want her home safe,” Mr Pattison said.
