Casey Anthony's Murder Trial Enters Week 4

Prosecution is expected to call a botanist, Dr. David Hall, to testify this week.

Prosecution is expected to wrap up its case before the defense begins to present its side.

But before the prosecution rests, more experts are expected to testify, specifically a scientist specializing in plant growth, to help establish the time-line of when Caylee’s body was dumped in the woods.


WFTV’s legal analyst Bill Sheaffer says, “They were looking at her and thinking what are we looking at here, what kind of a monster is this woman.

Sheaffer says, the defense has a huge hole to dig itself out of now that the state has presented so many credible experts for jurors, including Dr.Garavaglia.

The time line of Caylee's body placement is critical to the state's case, and is one of the things the defense will dispute the most, arguing it was not Casey who put Caylee's body in the woods.

Adams, , has been moved back to the Orange County Jail, may be called as a possible witness in the murder trial.

ORLANDO --Week No. 4.. Prosecutors have kicked off what could be its final week of testimony in the Anthony trial by calling a hair and fiber investigator for the FBI who examined samples taken from Caylee's skull.

Prosecutors are finished with their witness for today, the state will wrap up their presentation tomorrow or sometime by noon on Wednesday since their witness will not be in town until 6/14/2011.

Judge Perry said that so far they are ahead of schedule.

The State will be finished with their statements by Wed 6/14/2011.

Jude feels that by the case will go to deliberations by June 25/27.

(A) Victim impact evidence is limited to evidence showing the uniqueness of the individual who was killed and the resultant loss to the community. Cindy and George Anthony will likely be allowed to make a victim impact statement if they request to do so. There are two ways a mistrial can occur. First, the defendant can request the mistrial. Second, the jury is unable to reach a unanimous verdict. In either event, a retrial is allowed. The defense, may begin arguing its case as soon as Wednesday June 15.

Perry said. "I kind of think that maybe by the end of next week we will conclude all of the evidence in this case."

Expert Testifies On Hair Found In Trunk, Caylee's Skull

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla Judge Perry ruled that prosecutors could not use an electronic presentation of the hair analysis as evidence, saying that he found it troubling the contents of the study were not shared with defense attorneys ahead of time.

Stephen Shaw told jurors that he analyzed hair found in Casey's truck and samples taken from Caylee's skull.

Shaw testified that he saw further evidence of decomposition on the hairs taken from the child's skull than on the hair found in Casey's trunk.

Shaw said, "I cannot say that a hair did originate from a person. I don't know the source of those hairs."

Casey Anthony Trial: Heart-Shaped Sticker Residue Found on Duct Tape

Elizabeth Fontaine, a physical scientist and forensic examiner, testified that there was heart-shaped residue on the duct tape that had been over Caylee Anthony's mouth.

A similar heart-shaped stickers was found in the Anthony home.

Missing from the tape: fingerprints of Caylee's killer. The FBI believes that the fingerprints vanished during the months Caylee's body was outdoors. "Fingerprints are fragile, "It's not surprising that there were none."

Linda Kenney Baden hired as HLN, 'In Session' contributor

Linda Kenney Baden, a former attorney for Casey Anthony, started today as a contributor for HLN and “In Session.”


Baden will be on for the duration of Anthony’s murder trial. Kenney Baden cited financial reasons when she left the case in October.

HLN and “In Session” today started showing a photo of Caylee Anthony with duct tape. The image comes from a controversial videotape in which the toddler’s face turns into a skull.

On “In Session,” Kenney Baden decried the image as “outrageous,” “inflammatory” and not needed by the prosecution. Kenney Baden predicted the case would come back because of the issue.

Judge Gives Shorter Timeline In Anthony Case

Court adjourned until Tuesday at 1 p.m. The state said its next witness is not available until then.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The state will wrap it's case against Casey Anthony by Tuesday or Wednesday

Judge Perry said, he expects the defense to conclude its case by next Friday.

Perry noted that the timeline is subject to change.

Defense attorney Mason asked for and was granted a sidebar just after noon on Monday.

JudgePerry ruled in January that the defense could not introduce any evidence on Kronk's prior bad acts.

Perry said the defense claimed that Kronk had a "possible history of inappropriate behavior with young girls," a history of "abusing, restraining, and holding women against their will," using duct tape to restrain women and even said there is a chance that he knew the locations of the remains before alerting law enforcement.

Perry said that Kronk could be questioned about his calls to law enforcement to report a suspicious bag, but the defense cannot use his alleged history as evidence that he could be a suspect in the case

The defense team today also filed trial subpoenas for Dr. Arpad Vass and Dr. Mark Wise, both with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tenn

In addition, the defense filed a motion for the court to issue a certificate to compel out-of-state witnesses Vass, Wise and another Oak Ridge National Lab PhD., Madhavi Martin.

In response, Judge Perry today signed a certificate of summons for material witnesses, naming Martin, Vass, and Wise
