Ever since I started frequenting NYC to see shows, I started trying to watch the Tony's. I enjoyed this years airing... Book of Mormon raked in the awards, left and right... Whoopi wore "Professor McGonagall" chic, and the rap at the end that NPH rapped was written by Lin Manuel Miranda of "In the Heights" fame.

Was happy to see hometown girl, Sutton Foster, when her 2nd Tony. (Augusta, GA... she did theatre there in both the adult and youth shows)

Oh, and I have to add: out of all the trouble and mess the Spider-man production has gone through, Bono and Edge were very humble about being there. They didn't have to be, but I think it was big of them to step up to the plate and acknowledge that things have been hard and to thank the Broadway community for understanding. They also took a lot of heat and handled it well, given that a lot of jokes (more like jabs) were tossed their way through the evening.

I hate award shows -- unless the host is Hugh Jackman or Neil Patrick Harris.

We've already watched the 2011 Tony Awards twice and most of the musical numbers at least a half-dozen times.
