Family fears missing man is dead

It has been 18 months since Ricky Starnes' family has seen him. They fear the 49-year-old Stockbridge man is dead because he always kept in touch with them.

[snip]

Reba Moore, or Granny, had to go to the eye doctor in Stockbridge that day. Ricky Starnes went with her so he could driver her home after her appointment.

While she was at the doctor's office off of Highway 138, Ricky walked across the highway to the Sunoco convenience store to get a pack of cigarettes.

He never came back.

Allen Richard Starnes – The Charley Project

Classification: Endangered Missing

Age: 49 years old
Height and Weight: 5'8, 160 pounds

Clothing/Jewelry Description
A green knit sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Distinguishing Characteristics
Caucasian male. Brown hair. Starnes's nickname is Ricky.

Details of Disappearance
Starnes was last seen in Stockbridge, Georgia at 8:45 a.m. on December 7, 2009. He dropped his grandmother off at the doctor's office off Highway 138, then went across the street to a Sunoco station, where he purchased a pack of cigarettes. He was supposed to pick up his grandmother after her appointment, but he never showed up and has never been heard from again.

Although Starnes is a heavy drinker, it's uncharacteristic of him to be out of touch with his loved ones. His family believes he was murdered. His grandmother, who raised him from childhood, died in August 2010 without knowing his fate. His disappearance remains unsolved.

Bumping up case.
As far as I can tell, he is not publicly listed in the NamUs database.

I don't know if he has family still hoping for answers in his case, but if so, they could talk to law enforcement in charge of his case about having him added. JMO.
