Ramona Price
Endangered Missing from Santa Barbara, California since September 2, 1961
Age: 7 -- Hair Color: Brown
Ramona was last seen in Santa Barbara, California at 11:00 am on September 2, 1961. Her family was in the process of moving, and she told her father she was going to walk from their current home to their new home. The distance was 7 miles, and her father didn't believe she would actually do it. Half an hour later, her parents realized she was gone. She has never been heard from again. Dogs later tracked her scent for nearly 2 miles down Modoc Road near the 101 freeway, which was under construction at the time.
A witness described seeing Ramona get into a faded blue 1953 or 1954 Plymouth. The vehicle's driver was a Caucasian male between 30-40, with dark eyes and hair, wearing an open-collared sport shirt over a white undershirt. He was never identified.
Authorities believe Mack Ray Edwards may be responsible for Ramona's disappearance. He has confessed to killing three other children, and authorities believe he is responsible for killing others as well. They believe Ramona may be buried amongst the 101 freeway construction. In 2011, a new search for her body was started in that area.
