I can't find a thread on the combo of these two, but it seems hard to imagine no one has put them together.

Has anyone been talking to either of these two departments? There are no rule outs for the UID on Namus

Think it should be an easy comparison of dental to rule her out.

I would definitely contact the investigators in Sherry Jean's case as well as the Jane Doe. The time line is fine if she ended up leaving home (runaway) and eventually met up with the wrong guy/girl...who knows. It would be nice to give Jane Doe a name and the parents some closure. :)
 
Except some of the teeth were extracted from the mouth of the unidentified body 4-6 months before death and the missing girl had perfect teeth.
 
The timeline could provide an explanation for the difference in the dentals. I would contact the LE for the Jane Doe and ask about any known fractures, as Sherry had a known fracture to her ankle, although they don't know which ankle. There are certainly enough other factors that are very similar.
 
sent a note to the UID coroner, i will keep everyone updated when I hear back.
 
Got a note back from the LE (super nice and thorough, got to appreciate that!). She hasn't been ruled out...so he is going to check and see when Sherry's DNA was loaded into the system...

He did say, however, that the autopsy report didn't list any noticeable fractures for UID.

Missing since September 1, 1972 from Eatontown, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Date Of Birth:March 26, 1958
Age at Time of Disappearance: 14 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'0 - 5'3"; 105 - 115 lbs.
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Blonde hair; hazel eyes. She is left-handed.
Marks, Scars: She has a previous fracture to one arm just above the wrist, from a fall. She also has a scar on her forehead.
DNA: Available

Circumstances of Disappearance
Loomis had been living with an older sister and her husband who was stationed at the army base in Eatontown, New Jersey. Loomis was expected to arrive on a flight to Detroit, Michigan where her parents lived. All that arrived was her luggage. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Recently, a thread was started Kathleen Edna Rodgers age 16 who went missing from Oroville, CA (the other end of the state) 3 March 1973. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218373

I don't know if she is listed in NamUs/the Doe Network/the Charley Project. I wonder if she has been compared with this UID? Her age, height, and hair color are consistent with this UID and she could have lost weight if she had run away from home before meeting with bad fate.

A few months ago, I e-mailed the Los Angeles County Coroner about the young man in Hacienda Heights (Doe Network 865umca, https://identifyus.org/en/cases/3650) possibly being missing person Richard Nelson Lamson from San Mateo, CA https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/20045/57. I don't know if anything came of it of if he was ruled out. Kathleen Rodgers is from Oroville which is also in Northern California.

It looks like a possible match! I just hate how john doe's hair goes from brown on the Doe Network to Strawberry blond on NameUs?
 
It just occurred to me that this Jane Doe's case looks strangely similar to the Hacienda Heights John Doe case.

The John Doe was killed 10 months before the Jane Doe's body was found.
They were killed about 8 miles from each other.
Both were in their teens or early 20's
Both were killed by gunshot
Both were wearing peace sign earrings.

I wonder if these two cases are connected.
