CHANDLER, Ariz. The Department of Public Safety raided a drop house in Chandler on Wednesday and found close to a dozen kidnapping victims inside.
Investigators suspect that some of the victims were bound for the sex trade industry.
An email from a concerned family in Florida asking for help initiated the investigation. Thanks to the efforts of the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, that email made its way to the DPS IMPACT Team. The email claimed a family member was being held for ransom somewhere in the Phoenix area.

I've never heard the term 'drop house'. Thank goodness these victims were saved. Now I wonder how many of them have been reported missing by their families. It'd be nice to see some 'found safe' titles in the missing forum.

"The victims, who are Guatemalan immigrants, will be handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement." (from above link)
wow, I don't like that statement ...

Drop houses are used in all sorts of human trafficking. It's just a place to lie low and often a hub of movement. Very much like the Underground Railroad, which had far nobler intent but was still dangerous. The conditions are usually abysmal and violence and rape are common.
Even if these poor women were American women being moved around the country from house to house for trafficking, I doubt their families would ever learn about their rescue. Trafficked victims are brainwashed to believe that their families do not want them back.
Oh, but we do......
