One year later, family of murdered women still search for answers

According to Louisville Metro Police, Carrico was at the home her mother shared with her brother inside home in the 10200 block of National Turnpike to take her mom to a doctor's appointment.

Lt. Barry Wilkerson, commander of the LMPD Homicide Unit, said detectives are still going through evidence and waiting on DNA testing.

Double murder gone cold two years later

83-year-old Allie Sylvia Habich and her daughter, 53-year-old Rita Carrico, were killed in a quiet rural home off National Turnpike.

Just saw this case this week and had been meaning to create a thread for these women. Rest in peace.

It's a double murder mystery, but a relative is pointing the finger at his own family for answers. He is speaking out for the first time about the cold case...

"Two people in the family got attorneys right away," Frank Habich said. "Detectives were never able to get a real insight on the information they may have."

Detectives confirmed every time they try to call in the two family members for questioning, they are told to cease and desist by their attorneys.

The person or persons responsible for the death of Shannon's grandmother and aunt continues to walk free. Shannon believes it's not strangers either, but family...

LMPD Detective Keith Roberts said Tuesday, "I got a pretty good handle on who I think did it. It's just trying to prove it, that's the big key for me."
