    Missing Leominster man found deceased

LEOMINSTER -- Police reported discovering the body of a missing 25-year-old Leominster man Thursday near his home after he was reported missing more than a week ago.

Vincent DiGeronimo was found on Wednesday in the shed of a Leominster home not far from his Stetson Street home, said Leominster Police Det. Lt. Michele Pellecchia.

Vincent DiGeronimo was last seen wearing shorts and a T-shirt while leaving his uncle's house with plans to visit friends on Oct. 10 , his uncle, Larry DiGeronimo, said Monday. The 25-year-old had lived with his uncle since he was 14 years old.

The family became worried after DiGeronimo did not return home the night of Oct. 10 because he usually contacted them if he was planning on being out for the night.

"From our perspective right now it doesn't look like there is foul play," said Pellecchia.

Police are still waiting for the cause and time of death to be determined through the autopsy, Pellecchia said. The owners of the shed notified the police of the body, said Pellecchia.

Worcester County District Attorney John Conte's office and the state police are handling the investigation, said Pellecchia.

Elizabeth Stammo, Conte's spokeswoman, said they are also waiting for autopsy results but agreed with Leominster police that there did not appear to be any foul play involved.

Larry DiGeronimo said his nephew worked with him as a plumber.

DiGeronimo's aunt said the family did not want to comment on the situation Thursday afternoon. Larry DiGeronimo said on Monday that his nephew had problems with drugs in the past but said he had been clean for about a year.

How did he happen to end up in someone else's shed if there's no foul play??
