Valerie Lorraine Cuccia of Canarsie, Brooklyn, was a college student who loved playing guitar.

On May 7, 1974, she came with a girlfriend to a location in Bay Ridge, which today is a restaurant. In those days it was a night club.

It was called the Mustard Seed and the girlfriend told police Valerie left with two men.

“She last saw her get into a car with Massachusetts plates. She described the two men as ‘hard looking,’ whatever that meant at the time,” Bruce Cuccia said.

There was a woman found off the coast in Long Beach, who looks a lot like Valarie, on May 28, 1974, but the circumstances don't match up at all (not to mention the huge distance between NY and CA).

Valerie Cuccia

She was a songwriter and musician, sold two of her compositions to ASCAP, which were recorded by a psychedelic band out of New York, January Tyme. She is credited with the songwriting on their only LP, First Time from Memphis. Valerie co-rite "Rainy Day Feeling" and "The Music".

Her brother knows the facts so well because he used to be a senior investigator with the New York State Police. He said he believes his sister was murdered.

Circumstances of Disappearance
>Cuccia was last seen in Brooklyn, New York on May 7, 1974. She met a friend at the PS 211 Park and they hitchhiked together to a disco located at 96th Street and 3rd Avenue. Once they were inside the club, Cuccia and her friend separated. Her friend observed Cuccia speaking with two Caucasian males later in the evening in the disco. This was the last time anyone saw Cuccia.

Authorities believe that she was forced into the unidentified males' car, which is described as a passenger vehicle with a blue metallic finish. Cuccia may have been taken against her will to Massachusetts. She has never been heard from again.
